Thanks SO much for posting all of these statistics that only admins can access! It's really great to hear those on a regular basis. I think it would be really a positive boost to have current statistics featured regularly in the podcasts. Is it relatively easy to collect this data? Something that can be done in a matter of minutes?

Bob
It's very easy to get them. Gathering the figures is done by the system itself. Just ask an admin when you need them.

Thank you again, Bart. I think I will make this a regular feature of the podcasts, as they were at the beginning.

Some reading frenzy must have come into you that month, people

It's great that you're going to include these stats in your podcasts, Bob

And there's one new milestone to look out for: the 5000th reader :!:

It was probably a clean-up month, a push to get languishing group projects finished.

You mean, something like all the MCs and BCs turning into seargents yelling "Move it! Move it! Faster, damn you!"?

The reason why they are restricted access is that collecting them is a load on the server - the one we have to pay for :D . So it is better for one of us to do it once a month then the server is only used once. It isn't a state secret or anything :D So they are quick to get - but if all of us were getting them all the time nothing else would get done - uploads, downloads, forum, everything would slow down

I am so proud of myself ..... I think I'll have another cup of gumbo.

Anne,

I knew there was a logical reason that only admins could access these, and I thought it had to do with some part of the software that was connected directly with cataloguing or validating. It all makes sense, and since they are not overly time-consuming to access, I won't feel shy about asking someone to provide me with them for the podcast, like Tricia so graciously did for the first multilingual podcast. Thanks for explaining.

In March, with the clean-up effort, we cataloged 85 books! Here are the other numbers:

01/04/12 : 12:20:01

Total number of projects 5998
Number of completed projects 5452
Number of completed non-English projects 789
Total number of languages 33
Number of languages with a completed work 32
Number of completed solo projects 2441
Number of readers 5025
...who have completed something 4865

Our total number of books cataloged in 2012 right now is 276, three of which were already cataloged in April. That means in three full months we cataloged 273 books. If we keep going like that, we will catalog 1092 books in 2012, which will be a new record! :D THese are the numbers per year:

2005 30
2006 358
2007 726
2008 884
2009 1018
2010 1076
2011 1084
2012 276

I wonder what new language was that? Any chance someone could check this?

That's what came to my mind too, the Dholuo Phrase Book.
