I'll stick with the Guthenberg text.

I am "not authorised to use the PM" - apparently ... That's the message I get.

And no posts anywhere else that I can see-- at least not in any place that is obvious. Sorry. I must be blind, dumb --or both, but nothing appears.

In front of my nose, large florescent letters, flashing arrows ... that's what I need.

You are now. :) I think you must have registered at a time when we were having a lot of trouble with spammers, so back then we had to automatically set all new registrants to No PM's until they were proven to be real people. Anyway, you should be all set now.

Hooray! Second section complete!

But what a shocker: that little 11min:09sec recording took over 2 hours to record and edit  ... Is that normal?!?

Probably you will get quicker - it depends on the subject matter and the writing style :D

PL'ing this thing right now. This is my first time doing this, however, so let's cross our fingers that this will be a pleasant experience all around.

Excellent reading! I enjoyed listening to this far more than I expected. :)

Here are some of my initial observations on this listen:

* ID3 V2 tags on both audio files are incorrect. You've given #1 the unfortunate title of "01" (instead of ## - Section Title). On the #2, you've listed "Alfred R. Wallace" are the title and "02 - Gilolo" are the author. I'm also wondering--is this "01" or "02" or "21" and "22?"

* On #1, at 4:20 - Minor audio disruption here. The "of" is effaced somewhat. Not a major issue, but thought it was worth pointing out. ("I enjoyed the unwonted luxuries of milk and fresh bread, and regular supplies of fish and eggs...").

* On, #1, at 9:21 - Repeated line. (""Drake and other explorers...")

* Nothing out of place in #2 that I could find.

I hope that was helpful (and that I did it right). Again, you sound great.

Thanks Chuck for the PL. Nicely spotted :)

Yes I am wondering too about the ID3 tags. By chapter or section?

Annise, is there a way to correct the recording in the MW, or must I reload the original after corrections? I expect the second.

You do need to re upload - using the same file name . The uploader is very clever - it renames the existing file with a date/time stamp at the end so you finish up with your correction called "filename" and the old one "filename201227032922" year month date hour minutes seconds

If you haven't found a DPL yet, I think I'd like to try it out for you. Heck, might as well, since I've already done the first two chapters.
