LibriVox Multilingual Poetry Collection Volume 019

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/multilingual-poetry-collection-019-by-various/

This collection is for poetry in any language. Feel free to choose any poem which is in the public domain. If you're unsure what we mean by 'public domain', please read this explanation.

Each reader should not submit more than two poems in the same language (per volume). It's fine if we have several readers submitting poems in the same language. It's also fine if the same reader submits poems in more than one language. It's also OK to submit readings in English (English being a language, I figure), but as there are plenty of other places to put those, let's limit them to special cases such as interesting regional dialects or accents.

If you are interested to see what has been done previously, check the previous Multilingual Poetry Collections in our catalog (but we welcome multiple versions of the same poem).

Hi

These two submissions are linked. The Petrarch sonnet (Canzoniere 132) is translated by Chaucer (but expanded to fit 3 stanzas) and inserted as a lyric for Troilus in Book I of Troilus and Criseyde (lines 400-422).

Thanks, Leni! The second one seems to have a bit of a background noise compaired to the first one :hmm: I marked it OK, you can edit it if you'd like :)

This is my first upload. Let's hope it worked?
Also, I think the umlaut over the 'o' makes the link broken, so you just have to copypasta the entire link, rather than just click it.
(I also have a bit of a French accent, sorry)
Generosity is nothing else than a craze to possess. All which I abandon, all which I give, I enjoy in a higher manner through the fact that I give it away. To give is to enjoy possessively the object which one gives.

Thanks, Rain! Your reading is great, but the recording was in stereo instead of mono, I've fixed it :)
