I would like to be the dedicated proof listener for this project.
This will be my first time. So the chapters to be pl'd will be accesible through this forum and I pick them up as they are posted?
I see the first two chapters have been done.
I have read all the instructions on the sight, but am still a little confused. I understand the standard proof listening instructions.
I have not used a forum for anything before - I guess that is what is a little intimidating, I am confused about the magic window? Is that just for info. CherylStewart

heyy cheryl, welcome to librivox and welcome to the loudwater mystery!
you are welcome to be the dpl to this project.
this project needs a standard pl, that means you neednt follow the text and check if the reader might have changed a word here and there, thats ok. what you should listen for are repeats, for when the reader may have made a mistake, wrong pronounciation or something and probably meant to cut it out later but overlooked it; stumbles, li-like su-such thi-things, they should be cut out as well; strange sounds such as the doorbell ringing in the background, and pauses, like five seconds silence between two sentences or so. also, please check for background noise, such as a hiss or buzz that you hear when you hear no voice.
basically, whenever you hear something that strikes you as odd, write down the time mm:ss of when you heard it and maybe a few words of the sentence in which something was wrong, for better orientation.
ill check on the technical settings and volume for you if you want, so that you can get used to pl'ing easily, then ill teach you how to do that. no worries anyway, pl'ing is fun because you are the first person who gets to listen to a project, so just wait for the next section to come in and then lean back and listen.
if you have any questions, please write me, i can help
