Tina,
Third thoughts, if you want me to send the MP3s of what I have so far people could listen to them and that way if need be I can correct them, and them I could snail a DVD of the WAVs to you at the end...

Sorry, another thought, do you want the section numbers read e.g. the II that follows the introduction? At present I have recorded just the text, without these numbers, but if I am going to join Intro, II, II and IV to make 01.wav then probably I should read them so people know where they are....

tina, any reply to this?
tina, do you want just the credits as .wav or the main part, too? Do you have a meta tag system in mind (ID3 tags and filenames)? I know it's not that important because it'll be edited together, but having certain information in there may help the editors find things.
Sorry if this was discussed and I missed it.

Tim, EggDisk also offers 6GB total free file hosting for life. So, when you register, you get 6GB (and 7 if you do some simple stuff) and 30GB of monthly bandwidth (and 40 if you do some simple stuff). So, maybe it is closer to what you need, eh? Anyway, come check it out. You're welcome to play -- its free.tim bulkeley wrote:http://www.eggdisk.com/ offers up to 150MB (if you register) which MAY be enough. So far my biggest section is 141MB!
But http://www.gigasize.com/index.php offers up to 1 GB per file which should be enough for anything!! Even as WAV files
ARgh! I thought I was getting notified when replies were posted, but apparantly I'm not.
My insurance exams are over! Well, until the next two in April...
I'll try very hard to get and stay caught up now.

One thing I was wondering (and this is just for my psychological benefit)...
On the list of chapters/sections that you made, could you mark the ones that are completed in red? Just so we can know what has been done. I would appreciate it.
But by all means take exams first.

In my experience, nothing ruins a party like someone suddenly speaking Latin in reverse.

I'm not getting the email notifications either, the system seems to be down, and the RSS feed seems to cover the entire Forum...

Yes, I think the number intros should be read. If nothing else, they give the listener a signal that it's a stopping point.

OK, I'll do that propably add them this morning then upload the files to Eggdisk, though perhaps not till 1st November (our Internet is slowed down because the young ones download so much!) I have basically done up to 3.4 which is in two parts because of the Fosco letter. I should get more done once we get to the Christmas holidays...
PS I got the notification this time, so it seems to be working again...

56k till 1st November then a whopping 256k (though only 128k uploads)!
NZ is going faster, but our family are high users, so while the children (now all adults) are still home (at least 3 are, one is married) we are on a slow scheme to avoid high charges... even then we do 7GB of International traffic a month (not counting what I do at work ;)

For the chapter and section numbers, how do you want them worded?
So e.g. the "II" in the "First Epoch" after "Let Walter Hartright, teacher of drawing, aged twenty-eight years, be heard first."
Is it?:
Two
Chapter One, Section Two
The Story Begun by Walter Hartright Section Two
...or what?

My inclination is for "Two" with a long pause before and after. I think I've heard Stephen King read some of his audiobooks that way.

I've uploaded the Intro to http://www.eggdisk.com/files/81867_uvviu/intro.zip but since EggDisk was not quick so I'm trying MediaFire for the others... or maybe I'll do them both in arallel and let them compete with eachother ;)
