Public Opinion by Walter Lippmann (23 September 1889 – 14 December 1974).
Public Opinion (1922), by Walter Lippman, is a critical assessment of functional democratic government, especially the irrational, and often self-serving, social perceptions that influence individual behavior, and prevent optimal societal cohesion. (Introduction by author)
This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/public-opinion-by-walter-lippmann/
  • Target completion date: 2013-December-31
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/6456
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): Standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects (and hence the number of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

ProgressingAmerica has set this up as a solo; he's planning on reading it all himself. :)

(For the record, I cannot MC it because it's still under copyright for me, and I download all files I MC. That may be why it's taking so long to get an MC on this project, as it will not be PD for Europe or Canada.)

I will be away on vacation starting later today through next weekend. The other MC's will be looking in to see if help is needed.

The durations should be listed in the MW in the notes field for any prospective listeners and for future cataloging. :)
