However, we need an online source for the text. Can you provide us with a link to a public domain source of the text, please?
Luckily I've found one http://litteraturbanken.se/#!forfattare/BenedictssonV/titlar/BerattelserOchUtkast/sida/126/etext
The text I red has a slightly more modernized spelling, is that okay?

Hi,
I am not sure if this is in the public domain but I know that the author, Premchand died in 1936.
Can I proceed to record it anyway?
Here's the link to the e-text. I couldn't find one on Gutenburg!

Also, my Hindi is a little SHAKY. I will truncate the silences while recording to make it sound, um, more fluent!

Hi, Kamna

We have to to be really sure that the text is in the Public Domain before recording. Maybe we could ask other people to help making sure? I couldn't read much from the link you sent, of course, but other people might. I suggest you post your question in a new topic in the "Need Help?" forum: http://forum.librivox.org/viewforum.php?f=23 . Hopefully someone will come around with answers for us!

I'ld like to proof listen to this, @ Leni: please give me a bit of patience (now writing at the office; our home PC broke down yesterday night and might be very easy to fix (I hope it's just the connection of the hard drive that got loose) - in which case I'll PL tonight - but perhaps it will take longer to get it up & running again).

Indeed my computer problem mentioned earlier today was easily fixed, so here is my PL. I did a Word Perfect PL, to check the text with modernised spelling against the text in the public domain (and it's easier for myself too, as I'm not a Swedish native speaker). I found that the recording indeed can be used; it is following the PD-text well enough. Spelling modernisations can't be seen in an audio file ;)

The title is "Efter torGdagen" (also to be seen from the first line; I suppose it was not changed into torSdagen in your paper version?). It occurs at two instances: 0:16 and 9:15. Could you insert the correct title there, and also change the file name and the ID-tag, please?

For the rest, there were some misreadings that you directly afterward repeated in the right way. It is possible to take away the misread parts (between brackets) without hurting the endresult. If you would like to get help with that, just let me know :)

1:24 upp(tack) .. -täck
2:29 skulle man kunna (ä ...) anse honom
2:31 (för ett ar-) ... för en arbetare
7:38 (jag har aldrig) jag har alltid tänkt på henne

Some tips to make your reading sound even greater (I already very much enjoyed it as it is, especially the splendid way you changed voices in the conversation between the man and the woman :)):
- Sometimes you make a clicking sound with your tongue before starting a phrase. You could try to avoid that or edit it out later on
- Take care not to speak too loudly in the microphone. If the waves come above 0 dB in Audacity, it will cause distortion of the sound. It now happened a few times in your rendering of the loud voice of the drunk man. I don't think it's serious enough though to rerecord; just something to keep in mind for the next time.

Looking forward to hearing recordings from you again!

I uploaded a new version of Jid.

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/le/msw001_jid_turgenev_dk.mp3

At the end I left the minor corrections, that Marilianus called optional, and corrected the beginning ; added the name of the author and the language,
and also the end: corrected the silence to 10 seconds.

Hope it's alright now. Let me know.

Thanks, Dana.
Hello Dana and Leni,

Jid is now PL OK! :D Duration now 32:17.
