Hi Neeru Iyer:
I want you to know that I had a computer crash and I also crashed my leg as well.
I should be getting back to my recording next week. Sorry for the delay.

Hi Chelsea,

Welcome to LibriVox! :D
Section 21 is all yours, thanks for claiming.
Before recording the section right away, it would be great if you could send in a 1-2 min test recording, just so we could check the technical aspects and all. Visit this page on our wiki for more information: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
Please read the first post of this thread carefully for the exact tech specs and other information.
Also, what would you like for your catalog name? This is the name with which your recordings will be credited on the LibriVox Catalog. And if you've got a URL that you want to link yourself to, I could do that for you.
Have a lot of fun, and happy recording! :D

I have posted my 1-minute test and been approved. My catalog name can be "Chelsea S." No URL necessary. :)

Thank you!!

My first official recording EVER is completed! I painstakingly edited out every extra breath and tiny noise...I'm not sure if there's an easier way to do that than by going through the entire track one-by-one. And then I had to completely re-record the first 2 minutes because there was too much background noise there, but not in the rest, and Audacity wouldn't fix it. So, hopefully I didn't screw it up! :)

Hey there, Chelsea,

I've added your catalog name!
Thanks a million for your section. Congratulations on completing your first recording! :D
One of the easy ways to go about editing your recording is to make some sort of a noise every time you stumble or repeat something, like snap your fingers or something. That will create a waveform that will become familiar to you as you keep editing. And then you can go about editing only those parts.
But it's always a good practice to listen to the entire recording as you edit, because there might be background noises and tiny stumbles that you could remove to make your recording better.
Thanks again for your recording! Hope you enjoyed it. Would you like more sections from this book? :D

Could I read Section 34 - A Chivalrous Dictation?

It'll be my first recording ever, yay!

Hi Timothy! Welcome to LibriVox. :D
Congratulations on your first claimed section! I've assigned section 34 to you - it's all yours.

Before you dive into recording the section, however, there are a couple of things you need to do.

1. Please go through all the documentation. The wiki (link at the top of this page) is a very comprehensive guide for new readers. Also, pay special attention to the very first post of this thread. You'll find everything there about file names, ID tags, etc.

2. Please upload a test/sample recording. This is not an audition, and you needn't upload much, just about 1-2 minutes, just so we could check if all your tech specs are OK and if you're ready to go. Then you can go ahead and record without any glitches.

3. Do you have a preference for your Catalog Name and/or a URL? That's the name with which you'll be credited on the LibriVox catalog. Also, if you've got a URL you'd like to be linked to, I could do that for you.

That's it! Looking forward to listening to you. Good luck, and happy recording! :D

Chapter 21----PL OK.
Good reading.

Chapter 31--PL done.
Good reading but volume is too low and at end of recording
only say chapter number not chapter title.
