You'd like to go by Andrew Short, right?
Yes, Andrew Short is good. I don't have any sweet nicknames or handles :)

Oh, and thanks Ashleigh... this is my first time doing this so I wasn't sure on the levels

Your wave forms should peak between 0.5 and one 1 :)

Howdy from Texas!

Well, I really wanted more hearts and flowers for Valentine's Day, but this is what I found.

It's the literary version of an old joke about the guy.....well, see for yourself.

Hi! I have three lovely stories that I would like to contribute to this collection. I am "brand" new here but wanted to stake a "claim" for the stories. I hope to get my intro test done this week and uploaded. I am really looking forward to contributing to this project. I am an oral storyteller and have done tons of recording in the past/present both commercially and for my blog, so feel relatively confident in my ability to get the "job" done!

Cheers,

Hello!

Been away too long! But this is the perfect thing to do for Read Across America Day (today!). So I have recorded and uploaded the following for inclusion in the collection, if appropriate:

coffeebreak005_loveletter5_xs.mp3
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/lz/coffeebreak005_loveletter5_xs.mp3
"Letter V" from "An Englishwoman's Love Letters"
Anonymous
Length: 03:46
Link to text: http://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/15941/pg15941.txt
Name as it should be in catalog (because it has changed since last recording): Xe Sands

This is a lovely idea for a collection. Hope this selection is appropriate! Let me know if there are any issues with the file or the selection.

Hi!

This is my first recording and the first story of three I have recorded for this collection.

Title: The Shirt Collar by Hans Andersen

Hope everything is okay with this file and have included all that is needed. I am a newbie still learning to record with Audacity... so feedback is gratefully appreciated.

Cheers,
Sharon

I would love to record something for this collection. Could you listen to my test and tell me if it's OK to post a recording?

It appears that the BC hasn't been around for a few days, and I know the MC is currently a bit busy with real life. So I'll go through the past few posts in a little while and update things.

...after I get through some other threads...

OK, I've got everything entered, I think.

Bill - I fixed (and shortened) the file name on your section.

Xe - Your name was already entered as Xe Sands. Chances are that someone got to it before me. :)

Sharon - I fixed your links as well - no uppercase letters, please. :) What's the run time on The Shirt Collar?

Alice - Your volume is a bit too low. Are you using Audacity? You should aim for your wave forms to peak mostly between the 0.5 and 1.0 marks. Make sure the microphone slider in the Audacity window is all the way up. Also, have you increased your input volume in Windows/OS yet? Here's a link to instructions: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Audacity_1-2-3#Volume

The run time on The Shirt Collar is 6:23. Sorry for not including the run time and apologies for the caps... old habits die hard. ;)
