I'm currently narrating A Woman Who Went to Alaska written in 1902 by May Kellogg Sullivan. She recounts her adventures in the Alaska gold rush at the turn of the 20th century.

While I finish up the audiobook in the next few weeks, you might enjoy seeing the trailer that I created to market it. I used Ms. Sullivan's pictures in her book to create the video. I loved writing and recording the script, selecting and mixing the music, and sequencing the video.

Enjoy!

Wow! I can't wait for the book to be finished, now I really want to listen. Great job, just from that trailer I can tell it's going to sound smashing.

That was a wonderful video Karen! What video program did you use to record and edit it? I got cold just looking at the pictures.

Thanks to Lucy_k_p and KiltedDragon for your compliments about the recording; I don't know why I didn't see them before now!

Thanks also to Philchenevert and RuthieG for your kind words about the video.

To answer Philchenevert's question, I used iMovie on my Mac to create this video using Ms. Sullivan's original pictures. iMovie has a built-in effect called the Ken Burns effect that creates movement by changing the focus point on a still picture, just as filmmaker Ken Burns made famous with his PBS documentaries.

I've also used iMovie to create this audiobook trailer video that intermingles still pictures and video clips, as well as a picture-in-a-picture effect.

I'm learning to use Adobe Premiere for my videos, having created this audiobook trailer for Divas and Dead Rebels with it. While Premiere is more complicated to use than iMovie, I really like it because it gives you much better control over the timing. I never would have been able to synchronize the video of the marching band with the recorded fight song if I had used iMovie.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Thanks again for your interest!
