Sections 16 and 17 are PL OK.

He didn't waste any time. Put a door here, running rainwater here, put locks in with keys and a master pass key. No more heavy velvet, only white light fabrics. And he adores children but is terrified of them. Busy boy!

Hi

Uploading Section 18 - I hope I've managed to make conversing with Hadrian sound a tense, nervy business:

Section 19 is PL OK.

Oh, I so enjoyed this section. I laughed and cheered him on as he gave them a big dose of reality and made them swallow it down :!:

Great to hear this is under way - I had thought of doing it - it's a great book.
Look forward to the finished article.

Thanks, Nick -

I'm trying to give this my very best shot. It's great to be recording something so distinctive, which only Librivox is likely to make available as audio. I only wish I had the time to get on a bit faster, though.

Hopefully, the Scottish villain will sound remotely Caledonian. Accents are my weak point.

Best,
Martin

Hi

Here's Section 22 which, at the end, involves me in voicing an American character (apologies). My excuse for it (and for the dreadful Scottish accent coming up soon) is that Rolfe perceives 'foreign' speakers in a rather prejudiced, distorted way. I prepare the listener for this by dipping in and out of the accent during the indirect speech passages that lead up to the actual dialogue -

Hi, Martin and Dawn,
Sorry I've been AWOL for a bit, but I'm delighted to see it looks like you're ticking along just fine with this! Will be here more regularly again now. I didn't spot anything up-thread that looked like it needed my attention, but if I've missed anything please shout!
