I'm AJ from Maine.

I volunteer as a reader for Maine AIRS, a reading service for the blind, where I've recorded three audiobooks and do a reqular weekly live session reading from the daily newspapers.

I also host a weekly podcast of news and commentary.

I am excited about LibriVox, and can't wait to get started.

Hello AJ, and welcome to librivox!

Just choose a chapter of something (or try our Short Poetry Project) and jump right in. Holler if you have questions.

Hmm, from Maine, eh? How about reading a chapter of Country of the Pointed Firs: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=384 so we can hear a real Maine accent? :)

If you have any suggestions for getting our recordings distributed among the blind, please let us know.

Welcome AJ! Sounds like you have plenty of background experience to jump right in. Great to have you here, I look forward to hearing your voice.

Kara,

I am what the locals here call "from away". I've lived in Maine for nearly twenty years, but at the corner store, I'm still the new guy from Noo Yawk.

So, sorry, no Maine accent. I can still manage a decent Brooklyn accent on occasion, although I've tried to get rid of it for a long time.
