Praise for Sibella (Sibella Denton) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
I recently listened to Mary Louise by L. Frank Baum, read by Sibella and I just wanted to say that I enjoyed it very much. I listened to it on an 8-hour car ride all alone and it was read so engagingly that I didn't get sleepy, which is a miracle! It was so clear and read with such meaning that I'd dare say it was one of the best Librivox recordings I've heard to date. I really appreciate your reading, Sibella, and I'm thankful I chose that book!

Dear Sibella,

You've given me a lovely afternoon's listening while I sewed on a quilt. I really enjoy Georgette Heyer's novels, and was pleased to be able to listen to one I had not previously heard. I wish all her novels were on audio, I enjoy them so much. I believe her "Reluctant Widow" is my all time favorite historical romance. I wish Emma Thompson would have starred in a movie version of it -- I'd love to see it as a movie.

Thank you so much for the Black Moth reading --- the flighty female lead was so real in the reading, you did an excellent recitation.

Thank you.

Praise for martinc (Martin Clifton) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Martin Clifton,

The fact that people volunteer at all to read for Librivox is laudable; that people with good voices and diction do, even more impressive; that people - like you (and so far, having listened to about 160 works in the library, only you) - combine the voice, the diction, the careful sense of timing, the ability to evoke the mood and spirit with perfectly edged pauses, subtle modulations in volume and speed ... I need say no more.

You're obviously a professional who's just doing a little more good in the world. (If you're not - well...)

Best regards, Kirsten W

Thank you so much for the recording. What a blessing this book has become to me. I am a homeschooling mother of 3 and this book as well as your calming voice is peaceful and encouraging to me at night. Thank you again and May God Bless You.

Hi, Ruth! I am so glad this book has found a home in the hearts of so many people. I have to say recording it was totally a "God thing", and I just couldn't ignore that prompting! This book sat on my nightstand to be read over and over for many years, and it was a profound influence for me. I'm excited another homeschooling mom is being encouraged, as well! Thanks for your response! I'm sure it means a lot to my dear, patient, editor/husband who did all of the "hard stuff", and my gallant proof-listener, who gamely kept up with my grueling pace of work. :)

Blessings!

Hi, Angela!

I am very glad you enjoyed it, and I'm even happier you are recommending it to others. I feel privileged to have had a small part in making this book, which has been such an encouragement to me, more widely available. I know was prompted by God to do this project, and I was just glad to be a part of it!

Blessings!

Praise for tabithat via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hello Tabithat
I'm halfway thru listening to The Shuttle, and its so enjoyable. I look forward to getting back to the story whenever I can, as its absolutely rivetting. So thanks for that.
Chloey

I just wanted to let Tabithat know how much I enjoy her readings. She is the only reader so far who has managed to read an entire book without making mistakes in pronunciation, and her voice is lovely in tone and easy to follow. I’ve really enjoyed The Princess Priscilla and I’m looking forward to listening to more of Tabithat’s readings.

I wish all the readers were this good! Unfortunately, most do not know how to pronounce all the words they read, and many do not know how to modulate their voices as well as Tabithat. For those reasons, I usually hesitate to download from librivox anymore. But as long as Tabithat is contributing, I certainly will continue downloading.

Consuelo clearly hasn't listened to many readers, most of whom take great trouble to pronounce words correctly - rg

Praise for DSayers (Denny Sayers) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Dennis,

I have recently finished Robinson Crusoe which I enjoyed very much. I listen during my drive to and from school on my ipod. Often, as you know, several readers of varying voice quality are typically involved in a project. It was a real pleasure to enjoy the whole book under your narration, recorded, you said, in winter, 2006.

Because you completed the whole story yourself, it felt truly believable that your voice was that of "poor" Robinson Crusoe. I smiled when I thought of it, but the pauses, laughs, and other inflection of your voice made the story seem as true recollection of the adventures of the voice that I was hearing. Thank you for that. Though all efforts of the readers are appreciated, I have my favorites. You are in this class.

I find myself looking for other works that you have completed and wanted to take this time to say, with all my heart, thank you for taking time to share your talents.

Sincerely,

Becky J.

Praise for gypsygirl (Karen Savage) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
The Scarlet Pimpernel

I wish to thank LIBRIVOX and Karen Savage, of Waco Texas for a job superbly well done. (I suspect Karen has a good connection with French - to my Afrikaans+English+German ears her pronunciation sounded authentic.)

My problem? - Could not stop listening!

PLEASE pass this on to Karen.

Thank you for a truly splendid performance!

Dear Karen Savage,

Having recently finished listening to your reading of Pride and Prejudice, I
feel I must express my gratitude to you for donating so much of your precious
time and your talented voice acting. Thank you, thank you very much. It was a
real boon to me.

Good luck with your show, which I presume is Noises Off. I'm only sorry I
cannot attend.

Sincerely (and gratefully) yours,
Steve

P.S. Some of Gutenbergs Ogg Vorbis files are damaged, starting about ch. 19
or so ...

Praise for Hokuspokus via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hallo Hokuspokus,

Sebastian R.

Praise for LibriVox in general and chocoholic in particular via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
I suddenly found myself ill this morning, spent the day in bed and typed
“book” into my phone’s podcast client, which I normally use to play
work-related stuff. One of the results that came up was “The Book of
Dragons”.

The dragon stories are delightful, not least due to the language register
Edith Nesbit used, and Laurie Anne Walden: you have a lovely voice. Thank
you!

Reader: Bruce Pirie

Dear Mr Pirie,
Thank you very much– it is a sheer bliss to listen to your voice.
I have been listening to the chapters read by you over and over – indulging myself in it; it’s a pleasure and honor.
I cannot find words to express all the feelings, arousing from this experience – so again thank you for sharing the miracle of your voice with us all.

All the best!
