Praise for kayray (Kara Shallenberg) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
I would like to thank Kara Shallenberg for her reading of Just So Stories by Rudyard Kipling.

These are hard stories to read to children if you don't know the writing style. And my children and I have listened to this book a few times with enjoyment. Kara has a smooth, pleasant clear voice and she reads with an enjoyable flow that we really like.

Her excellent reading has provided us with some wonderful stories that we otherwise would not have experienced. THANK YOU!! We will be looking into all of the other readings she has done.

Regards,

Amber L.

I would like to say a big “Thank you!!!” to Kara Shallenberg for reading The Secret Garden. The way you read this is wonderful! I’ve listened to this book at least four times already – it’s wonderful! Your reading makes me feel like a small child again listening to a bedtime story – I love it! Keep up the great work!!!

Thanks again!

Praise for ahab (Stewart Wills) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
I hope this thank-you note finds its way to you.

I just wanted to say thank you very much for your reading of Moby Dick. In an odd sort of way, I have spent more time with you in the past few weeks while listening to the book during my daily commute (I bike to & from work here in Chicago) than I have with any person in my life. I'd read the book two or three times before, but I have to say that your reading of it allowed me to enjoy it at a level I hadn't previously experienced. I thought you did a very nice job voicing the different characters & it wasn't until stumbling earlier today upon a youtube clip of Orson Welles reading the sermon towards beginning of the book that I thought that particular piece could be done better.

Well, thank you once again & have a great weekend,

Jeremy P

Praise for Sherry (Sherry Crowther) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Sherry,

I hope I have spelled your name correctly, but I wanted to thank you for the wonderful experience you gave me in your reading of Jane Austen's "Emma."

I cannot imagine anyone else's voice reading that precious story. You sound like an angel from heaven. I am a busy college professor, and my favorite way to relax is to go outside in the night and listen to a "story" on my phone and earphones. Oftentimes I would walk around in the night with your beautiful voice soothing away a very long day. It took me several weeks to get through "Emma," but I enjoyed every second of it. I was sorry when it ended.

Thank you, Sherry, for volunteering your time and gifts to help those of us who just need a bedtime story read to us :)

Thank you so very much,

Susan K.

Dear Mrs. Klett,

I enjoyed so much your recording of Emma, by Jane Austen! I loved how you read it, I was often astonished how easily I could hear who was talking, even though my concentration had been away for some seconds. How very well done even your modulation of male voices, without sounding unfeminine. Great work!

Thank you so very much!

Praise for ExEmGe (Andy Minter) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Mr. Minter,

Thank you so much for the time and effort you spent on your readings of the Oedipus books. I just finished the trilogy and I must say, your reading was a joy and great pleasure to listen to. You really brought the text to life for me and I was so sad Oedipus died and I wouldn't get to listen to you in /Antigone/ as well. Best wishes for all your readings!

A huge thank you to Andy Minter for his reading of the Lancashire Witches, it was much appreciated and the different accents made it so real and easy to follow. I really enjoyed listening and am now looking for another book read by him. Regards Anne

Praise for smijen (Sarah Jennings) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hi There,

I'd just like to pass on a quick thank you to Sarah Jennings (smijen), whose recordings of 'The Street' and 'The Cats of Ulthuar' both by H. P. Lovecraft, are fantastic.

Having only recently discovered Lovecraft, and more recently again Librivox while searching for more information on the former, I stumbled upon a librivox project of the collected public domain works collection mentioned above. While all the readers of that project did a marvelous job, I felt Sarah's reading of the street somehow 'fit' the best.

I've now put this recording into my playlist used when I go for long walks near home - Aptly, down many long streets.

Regards,

Thomas D.

BIG THANKS to RuthieG, CathG, TriciaG (and the rest of the "G Family"), gloriana, DSayers, m8b1, and Miss Avarice for their brilliant recordings in my first project as BC: The Children's Shakespeare!

I just wanted to publicly acknowledge their excellent reading and all the hard work they put into creating a project I am proud to have been involved with.

Special thanks to gloriana (Elizabeth Klett) for all the extra help during my absence on the project.

It's only been catalogued for less than 48 hours, and already almost 200 downloads on archive.org!

Thanks everyone.

Praise for GordMackenzie (Gord Mackenzie) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Just to say how much I enjoyed Gord McKenzie's reading of Sabatini's _Scaramouche_. He has a real talent for rendering the different characters' voices. All the characters were very well done, although perhaps my favorite was Polichinelle (too bad he didn't have more to say!).

Thank you, and I hope to listen to more of his work.

Eduardo K.
Dear Mr. McKenzie,

Thank you very much for reading "Scaramouche". I listened to it whilst making jam, washing dishes and other household chores.

At first it was a little difficult to listen to an English novel. For some reason that was much more difficult than reading it myself, but your voice was very easy on my ears.

I enjoyed it very much.

Greetings from the Netherlands,
Anneke L.

Praise for gypsygirl (Karen Savage) via the 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Karen,

I recently downloaded an app to my phone so that I could listen to audiobooks while doing chores and on my way to and from work so that I could get back to the reading I’ve been missing since my baby was born. (The time at the end of the day that I'd normally spend reading is now spent crashed on the couch or sleeping. :))

I started by searching for the works of Jane Austen and the first one I listened to was read by someone else. It was read well and I enjoyed it enough. Then the next one I chose was read by you. You were amazing! You made the characters come alive and I felt like I was right there with Jane Austen telling me the story. I found myself searching for more books read by you, instead of searching for ones written by Jane Austen. When I found more of hers read by you, I chose those first and then I listened to a couple of others that you’d done by other authors.

I did find, however, that there was one novel that I wanted to hear that was not available on my app read by you. I broke down and downloaded it anyway to see if I could still enjoy it. And oh, what a difference! It was read so stiltingly compared to your readings and not in the English accent and with not much difference in the characters’ speaking. I only listened to a chapter or two and then I had to stop — I just couldn’t enjoy it. I will have to wait until a recording of that book becomes available read by you. :)

So, in conclusion, I want to thank you very much for your work reading these books. You really have a talent for this and it is much appreciated, by this listener, at least and I can’t wait until my son is old enough to be able to appreciate listening to you read such classics as The Secret Garden and The Little Princess as I have done these past few weeks.
