hi all, some old friends http://legaltorrents.com have resurfaced with a new look at:
http://beta.legaltorrents.com/

we'd like to get our content in there ... is anyone interested in helping add some LV books in there? let me knoe.

eventually we may integrate with them so that uploading to legaltorrents is part of our cataloging/uploading process...but in the mean time, just getting some stuff up there would be good.

so any takers?

Hugh, I've made an account, but can't figure out how to start a torrent. The FAQ says:

To upload content on LegalTorrents, you need to be assigned a Content Creator profile. Instructions are provided when you are assigned your profile.

But, um, I can't find any instructions...

I am a new person here but am somewhat familiar with LegalTorrents and know more about bittorrent in general.

Let me know if you would like some assistance on this project.

Thanks, Dave! Nice of you to offer. I think we've got it under control for now but we won't hesitate to call on you if we need help :)

(legaltorrents only wants us to upload 2-3 torrents a week, and I've been taking care of it.)

Legal Torrents is great (I only just learned about it and about Libravox).
I noticed that there are not that many torrents yet available on legal torrents. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, or maybe there has been a lag in the upload process? If so, I'd like to volunteer to help with this process.
Thanks to everyone who's volunteering on this great project! You rock!

Well, I suppose I have the honor of being the first person to post here who CAME from Legal Torrents...now known as Clearbits, evidently. They are integrated with BitTorrent and they are how I discovered LibriVox. Heh...so your efforts paid off with me, at least.

Is this project still underway? There weren't that many LibriVox audiobooks up on Clearbits...I downloaded all of them. Only fifteen are labeled as being from LibriVox?

Considering this thread has been around for a number of years, either we stopped uploading to Clearbits, or they deleted some, or I'm missing something. (If I was inclined to a wager, I'd choose the last)

I'm very interested in helping make LibriVox's recordings available to the P2P network. If there is an undertaking in progress, I'd love a link. If not, I'd love to START one!

Disclaimer: I've only been on these forums for a couple days, now...so if there's some really obvious public announcement, or some rule that I'm breaking...I apologize. I've read everything I can get my...mouse...on. Just a newbie, stumbling through the amazing community you guys have set up!

Hey Matthew,

I was taking care of this... and then I forgot all about it. You're welcome to take over if you like!

How to go about that, though, I don't really know. I have forgotten all the rules :) If you want to do some digging and figure it out, Hugh or I can contact whomever needs to be contacted and tell them it's ok for you to be the LibriVox Torrent Upload Guy.

I would be honored to be the LibriVox Torrent Upload Guy! If I can aspire to such an auspicious position, I believe I would make my first declaration as to it's title. Namely, the LTUG, or Ell-Tug.

In any case, I have much to learn before I would feel comfortable taking a sole role or even a point on the project. By all means, I would love to be put in touch with the appropriate people, and perhaps shown around a bit on how it is to be done.

I look forward to your reply and/or PM! Thanks for the rapid response!
