Hi Algy,
I'm not sure it's a good idea to have two dramas in German by the same author open at the same time... ? Is there a special reason you wanted to do both at exactly the same time? Wouldn't it be much better just to start with one of them?
(Sorry to be the Voice of Caution, but these dramas can remain open for years and years, because of not enough readers, so seems better to me to do one at a time?).

Hi Algy,

I think Lezer is right. Better do them one after the other.
I'm happy to be your MC for one of them. With which do we start?
I would suggest the one with fewer persons and we see how it works.

Thank you Anna

Wise words. I'm afaid that sometimes my enthusiasm runs a little wild.

On reflection, I think we should do Erdgeist first, because it is first in the series.

I will update the opening post accordingly.

Cheers

G'day Hokus Pokus

The reason I posted both plays is that six major characters - Lulu, Countess Geschwitz, Alwa, Rodrigo Quast, Schigolch and Alfred Hugenberg - occur in both plays. Furthermore Kungu Poti and Jack in Part 2 speak only in English, and so a non-speaker of German could take those parts.

In Erdgeist, apart form the six major roles listed above there are 10 others roles, including the narrator. In Pandora there are 19 other roles, inlcuding the four very small parts in the prologue, which could be taken by readers taking some of the larger parts.

I am currently BC for the Henry VI project, where we are doing all three parts concurrently. As a comparison, here is the list of the number of roles for each part:
Part 1 55
Part 2 62
Part 3 41
So far about 40% of the role have been taken.

However, I do appreciate that there are considerably fewer readers in German than in English. Therefore, I think we should start with Erdgeist. I will update the post for this one to indicate that we will call for readers for Pandora when Erdgeist is well underway.

Thanks for offering to MC, but Rainer has already agreed to MC Erdgeist. However, we do need a DPL. I can't do it - for obvious reasons. Would you be interested?

Thank you for your suggestions. They are always appreciated.

Cheers

The following two characters speak only in English: Kungu Poti and Jack (the Ripper!). There is a further role of Mr Hopkins, but he doesn't speak at all!

Initially I wanted to claim Jack but have now decided to leave the role open for a non-German speaker.

Preferably Kungi Poti should speak with an African accent and Jack with a rough Cockney/Geordie type accent.

Cheers

Hi Algy - know this one has gone on hold now but will do 21 - the African prince for you - think it's going to be too much bizarre fun to resist after all! :D

12 Stunden?
