Starlite wrote:OK in case you hadn't done it, Here is the timestamps for the segments.

00:00 Hugh's interview
14:55 Interviews
40:00 Bloopers
43:03 Anniversary poem
45:29 Snoopers
54:02: Birthday wishes
That's about what I have.
A 13-second bit has been added to snoopers, yielding 54:15 for start of Birthday wishes.
I'm off a bit on a couple of those . . . will take it into audacity to get precision about it, since iTunes is dastardly difficult to finetune
Thanks!

Stefan comes before tom sawyer starts making like a steamboat. I think. but who's that AFTER??? Checking all male voices...

Oh, y'know, Stefan read two chapters. that would account for the slight difference in sound quality between the two segments. i can't find any other german-sounding dudes reading that book :)

checking against text now...

"I declare, it's a pirates' rum room" is chapter 17.

"They told my uncle that
they wanted him to be a pirate like them"

also ch 17 :)

Mystery solved!

a.r.dobbs wrote:oops, just to be sure ... this is the bit AFTER johng reads tom sawyer ...
about someone being turned into a pirate.

If that is Stefan, is the excerpt BEFORE johng also Stefan? two bits from the same chapter??

No, it's certainly a different reader. Sorry, then the credit should be swapped and it's the First Dr. Doolittle reader who's unidentified. What do you think for this one? British perhaps?
IT is in the list of credits I Made! It says, Dr Dolittle, 17th chapter, read by Stephen Scmelz, then the next bit (Tom Sawyer), and then it says "another bit of dr. dolittle." Which is by the same reader. I spilt up the bits from the chapter I was using because it worked to create the effect I was going for.

since it's only one line down from the original credit for the reader for dr. dolittle,I figured people could still see the first bit about dr. dolittle and make the connection that it was the same chapter.

I'm not sure where (or why) the confusion even started over this???

Thge credit I submitted to you is the correct one. it is the same reader. I just happened to stick another excerpt (tom sawyer) in between.

<sleepy>
Now that it's done and been catalogued, I hope all Librivoxers will take the opportunity to listen and I hope you all enjoy it :D That's why we made it, after all...for everyone to listen and (hopefully) enjoy, and hopefully there is something in there for everyone to remind them why LibriVox is so special :D

Maybe we need a more conspicuous place/way than "Listener's Wanted" to prominently announce the program (and the poetry collection) now that they are done and ready for downloading? We didn't have any "publicity" about the anniversary beforehand, but maybe we can do something now to sort of
announce it to people who have been away or maybe don't read all of the forums.(Shame on them!!! :P j/k)

getting some of my sense of humor back  now that this project is officially "DONE",

I agree Maddie. I just looked at the catalogue home page and its not obvious as to where to D/L it. I clicked the link by Hugh's announcement that we are now a year old and it does not point to the podcast. Its not obvious in the catalogue either. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even find it there. We want to make sure as many people as possible gets the chance to listen to it. :)

don't worry, now that it's cataloged and I'm awake I will make a new front-page post and point to our lovely Special!

Maddie, Esther, Anita, Alan, John - everyone thank you so much for putting this together. It is a truly brilliant piece of work, a one hour LibriVox immersion. The bloopers reel is so incredibly funny and mixed together expertly. Bravo, well done!
