Hey, Jim!
So sorry about the radio silence... Been away for my internship.
I think I'm going to have to give my one last section up. I still don't have a mic to work with, and no hopes of getting a new one.
So very sorry! :(

No problem, Hitha. Thanks for checking in. Hope all is well... :)

Section 8 is now up for grabs. Anyone?

I'd like to tackle section 8 please. This is my first attempt at recording for LibriVox by the way. trinidadsky would be my pseudonym for the catalogue.

Ignore this, I posted volunteering to take section eight without realizing someone had already done so. For some reason, it won't let me delete the post. Carry on...

Hi, trinidadsky. First, welcome to Librivox! And thank you for volunteering to read.

I've signed you up for section 8. Here's a link to your catalog page: http://librivox.org/newcatalog/people_public.php?peopleid=5288

Since you're new, I suggest you first:

1) Read the Newcomers FAQ and familiarize yourself with the LibriVox Wiki, especially the "Newbie Guide to Recording."

2) Submit a test recording. You'll find instructions on how to do so in the FAQ and Wiki. Feel free to post it here and I'll have a look at it if you like, or you can post it over at the Listeners & Editors Wanted forum. It's by no means a requirement, but it's a good idea to iron out any technical issues you may have with your recording set-up in advance of an actual recording. It's a lot easier to fix a 30-second or so test than a 1000+ word recording! :)

3) Above all: Have fun!

I look forward to hearing you.

i am so sorry, i have been trying and trying and trying. its really tough

and for a person who has done ramayana recitations in sanskrit in past at home also. its really embarassing that i can't get it right.

i have done one which has so many edits, that its smoothness is gone also. i also got into a voice training for this
but the ramayana's translation in english is really tough.
let me give it one more shot. and then i will upload whatever i have. if you guys like it keep it. else junk it.
sorry guys for keeping all waiting.

Thanks for all your efforts, runjhun, however they turn out...

I suspect they'll be just fine. :)

No problem at all, runjhun. This is supposed to be fun, so if it's frustrating, best to move on to something else. :)
