@martinc Thanks for volunteering and being so prompt. The file sounds good to a quick listen.

Chapter 3 is done, it's 39:48 including 10 seconds of silence at the end.
Hope it's ok :)

Hokay, I'm back for more - may I have chapter 6, please?

Hi Xander,
The above note means that we've been having yousendit troubles lately, where the link takes us not to a download button but to a registration page (and it does no good to register there either, you still won't get the intended file)

Maybe opheliad can explain what made the difference? Maybe others can solve the yousendit problem with the same solution?

Anita

drat, I still can't get it
I'm in Opera, Windows XP ... grr

When I tried to download the file I had to sign in first (the first time I had had to) and then got to download the file.

Yes. It looks like they're now forcing login before one can download. I just did it for another file. It's very confusing - they have a login box next to the message that says one cannot access the file without logging in. When one uses it to log in, one gets to yet another screen, which is the file upload. It took me a moment before I realised I had to click on Inbox to see my received files. I guess this also means that the trick with uploading a file to one's own email address does not work any more, as nobody else could access it. Ugh.

@opheliad It seems that I have you down for a claim in the first post. Did you claim this or was I just hallucinating when I updated that post?

We could set up a Librivox account and make it public for everyone.

Oh yes I forgot to say - it looks like you put me down for chapter 05 instead of 06, Xander; that should explain things.

Yousendit has been a bit hit and miss for me lately; don't know why they are putting the email address at the end of the links they produce, not happy about that :x -solution: change the email I enter into yousendit to one I don't use. (I am spamophobic ;) )

It does seem that uploading to your own email address works, so I don't think there's a need for a LV public account, unless there is some other advantage to that.
