All right, guys. NOW IS THE TIME to revive the late lamented Boom-de-ya-da version of the LibriVox song. I want you all to record the chorus - as many boom-de-ya-das as possible... right to the end. I haven't carried on boom-de-ya-da-ing to the end, but I want you to.

You don't even have to be able to sing! I don't care, as long as it is in time.

Lots and lots and LOTS of different voices

Call your file ilovelibrivox_yourinitials.mp3. Upload it to my folder rg - RuthieG by Monday night (British time) and I will edit them all together to send to Cori on Tuesday.

This is how you do it:

1. Import the accompaniment MP3 into Audacity.
2. In Edit | Preferences, tick the box that says "Play other tracks while recording new one"
3. Click record and sing along while listening using headphones. Put the playback sound down low so that it doesn't get recorded with your voice.
4. Now you should have two tracks. When you are happy with it, just delete the accompaniment track, and export your voice track as an MP3.
5. Don't forget to uncheck the Playthrough box when you have finished.

Thought: call me optimistic, but I have a feeling that we are already very close to our goal - how about writing an alternative last verse with a kind of "thank you" or celebration instead of asking for donations, so we can still broadcast & use the song even after this donation drive has been completed?

My husband's a musician and loves singing, I might convince him to register and sing along. That will probably be his only recording ever (we just have one computer and it's MINE! ) but I think I can get him to it!

I've done a version and will get it to you by the end of tonight, but dear lord even singing along with your tune, my voice is dire. I couldn't hear myself when singing, but playing it back it sounds dreadful. You may just want my boom-de-yadas.
