Thanks, Gordon! I don't have time to PL it right now, but I should later.
For the record, next time please include the file duration in your post. I need it during the cataloguing stage. However, since I downloaded it, I found the duration on this one.

Section 2:
Great reading!
Bit rate is set at 129 kbps, variable bit rate. It should be 128 kbps, constant bit rate. (These options will be when you export to MP3 in Audacity - when you name the file and choose the MP3 format, click on Options and change the settings.)
Volume is too low. You can either use the Amplify effect or the Normalize effect. Amplify about 12 dB; Normalize to about -1.0 dB from maximum.
(You want the wave forms to peak, on average, somewhere between the .5 and 1.0 marks in the Audacity window.)
9:45-47 - audible shuffling of papers in a silent spot - you can probably copy silence from another part of the recording and paste it over this.
12:39 & 13:39 - "In fine" - up to you if you want to change this, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "fine" rhyming with "line". http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/in+fine
8 seconds of silence at the end; only needs 5.

I'm uploading section 8 now. Would anyone care to PL it for me? It'll be fully uploaded in about 20 minutes.

Hi Tricia, sorry about the errors. Actually I am using Reaper, and still learning a lot. I think I got the bit rate right, and cleaned up some mouth noises as well. The first "fine" sounds great, the second is not bad.
I labelled it with a -b on the end to distinguish, hope that's okay.

Thanks for the feedback,

The edits sound great! Volume is great, too.
The only thing I'm concerned about is that bit rate. My RealPlayer shows it at VBR 122Kbps.
I'll try it and see if the validator will take it. If not, I guess I'll import it into Audacity and re-export. But it'd be nice to figure out how to permanently set it in your recording program. Perhaps you could ask in the Need Help forum?
Oh, and the uploader automatically renames the old file, so in future, you can upload it with the original file name.

Here's what I've found on Reaper:
• MP3 (once the lame encoder is installed) CBR, VBR default, VBR old, VBR new, VBR mtrh or ABR Modes Stereo, Joint Stereo, Multi-Channel or Mono 8 - 320 Constant Bitrate 13 Quality options
You'd need to change it to the CBR. Unfortunately, I don't see how in the documentation.

Hi Tricia, well thanks for your diligence. I did finally figure it out, after going back to the manual and then to the program several times, with a little experimenting.
Here is a 128 bit, CBR version of "-b", labelled as "-c". I hope I have saved you from some work, and that I have done well.

That whole chunk is yours. If you find you have bitten off more than you can chew, you can always throw some of 'em back in the pot. It's not as disgusting metaphorically as it would be literally.

Here is section 7:

The length is 23:25.
Calvin obviously read the apostle Paul a lot, since he follows his example of packing as many clauses into his sentences as he can. You only really notice it when you try to read it through without mistakes.

Thanks, Andrew. What a quick turnaround!
Yeah, some of this stuff is hard to read aloud. Thanks for doing it.
Want any more?
