I am sending a test before doing a new short story to see if the bugs have been worked out.
Please take a listen when you get a chance.
Thanks!

As the proof listener on the project, I listened to your test and have some concerns. The recording volume was too low; you need to turn up your microphone volumes or amplify the file. But that is secondary to the other problem. There is a large amount of hum/buzz in the file. I tried to remove it but in order to get enough of it out so as not to be a distraction, it ended up distorting your voice. Can I ask what you are using for a microphone to record with? What is your computer? Laptop or desktop? We need to try and find the source of the noise and eliminate it. Did you change your setup from when you sent in the last recording?

Hi Barry,
I made another test. I had changed some settings since the first recording so that must have created the noise. My husband adjusted the set up and I think it may be good-( fingers crossed.) It sounds better on this end. I am using a logitech headset on a laptop. I'm looking forward to submitting a new story

THanks for the file Larry
We always use the Etext Gutenberg file address form the first page http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/14855 in the catalogue - that gives people a choice of formats and is constant for the book , all the other pages can change (I've altered them , just for your information)

Hi Anne and Barry,
I have " Queen of Spades" by Alexsandr S. Pushkin 1799-1837 ready. This one was a bear for me to edit for some inexplicable reason but I really like the story. I got it from Gutenberg :
http://www.gutenberg.org/files/13437/13437.zip
Here it is.
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/arb/shortstory042_queenofspades_ag.mp3
At around 33 it says" Convent of ___" in the text so I read it as the convent of (pause). I just wanted to let you know that there was no omission.
Thanks,
-Amy

Hi Anne and Barry,
Thanks for info on Etext Gutenberg file form - I'll definitely use that from now on. Also thanks for the quick PL OK.

Amy - thanks for the file , Barry will fly past sometime and listen.
Almost everything , we just need the time (duration) of any uploaded files , its a good way to check that bits don't drop off .
And Gutenberg links are put in the Catalogue as the first page link - they say that is the one that will be constant for that book = and some like to read it on line , some in phones etc , this gives them a choice.
So I've made it
