Hey there,

Surprise, it's me.

Looks like we have a rash of Poe going around. I don't have the cure, but I don't mind adding to the epidemic.

Anyway, here's my take on The Cask of Amontillado (complete with cheesy Italian accent):

File: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ce/ghohor007_caskamontillado_poe_gmh.mp3

Source: http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/1062

Enjoy.

Thanks, Glen. More Poe is better, sez I. :)

Could you tack 5 seconds of silence on the end of that for me?

Ack, always forgetting something. I usually do 10 seconds, but I like you, so 5 it is.

I'll label it [whatever the label is]02.mp3.

I would like to volunteer to read Lafcadio Hearn's Hoichi the Earless, from his Kwaidan collection, which can be found on Project Gutenberg.

Certainly. Hearn died in 1904 so any of his works are in the public domain.

Since you're new here: Welcome! :)

Be sure to read the Guides for LibriVoxers in the Wiki. It's also suggested you submit a test recording so we can be sure all your technical specs are correct. You'll find instructions on how to do so in the Wiki. Feel free to post it here and I'll have a look at it if you like, or you can post it over at the Listeners & Editors Wanted forum.

Any questions? Just ask. And again welcome to LibriVox.

This is my first recording, so see what you think.

I guess I'll just continue the trend with Poe and add my rendition of a Tell-tale Heart. Enjoy!

If there is something technically wrong with this recording, please let me know.

Welcome to LibriVox! :)

I need to know by what name you want to be listed in the catalog and if you have a website you'd
like listed, as well.

What I heard of the recording sounds good. A few air noises and small plosives. Nothing major, but
you may want to consider some small changes to your mic placement in future.

The only changes that need to be made are to your ID3 tags and filename.

ID3 tag "Title" should be Edgar Allan Poe

Filename should should follow the format ghohor007_shorttitleinoneword_author_readersinitials.
So yours would be ghohor007_telltaleheart_poe_xx (xx being your initials.)

Overall, very well done and I hope to hear more from you soon. If you have any questions on anything
please don't hesitate to ask.

I do need the source of the text for your story.

Actually, I misspoke. The "Artist" tag should be Edgar Allan Poe, not the "Title". I'll fix it, though. Mea culpa...

I don't know. Will you? :)

The standard has always been mono, so far as I know. You've been around longer, though, so perhaps you remember when it wasn't...
