Is there any way to know how many people have downloaded a particular text? Since I completed my first solo project a month or so ago, I'm curious how much traffic it's getting. . . . Geez, I'm vain.

Well, you're not "Zaklog the Humble" for a reason one presumes.

If you go to the archive.org page for your project there is a counter of downloads. Whether that counter is 1) accurate, or 2) indicative of complete downloads or individual files is (so far as I know) uncertain. But it will give you at least some idea.

Not egotistical at all, Shawn. I look at mine regularly. All you have to do is click the link to the Internet Archive page on project's LV catalogue page.

The Internet Archive shows number of downloads, updated daily. It is not known whether the download numbers differentiate at all between downloads of the whole book in zip format and downloads of individual files (probably not) but it gives you an idea.

There is also the possibility that someone may leave you a review one day...

Damn straight! I got a positive review last year for my reading of A Christmas Carol and I'm still insufferable around my house!

I went so far as to make a little piece of code which goes and checks on the number of downloads on each of my solo recordings at archive. (55,235!)

Which is totally meaningless for SO MANY reasons (like, I only worked in collaboratives for my first two years here, and it seems to be cheating to include those in the count, plus also the individual/zip count uncertainty at archive, not to mention the copies torrented and ebayed which are untrackable...)

Seriously, I love the Firefox Update Scanner plugin, which I'm afraid I leave at "all changes" for its notification threshold. But I do check only once per day.
