Tricia and I figured out the problem. It turns out that no version of Windows Explorer or Windows Media Player understands version 2.4 of ID3 tagging (despite the fact that this version of the standard is nearly ten years old - thanks Microsoft!). Audacity on Linux writes ID3 tags using the 2.4 standard. Thus the issue.

I was able to use another program to convert the tags back to the 2.3 standard, and they were visible to Tricia in Windows.

Here is a test recording for Section 04:

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/tests/bookofmartyrs2_04_foxeforbush.mp3

It covers the first section, running about 5 min.

Please let me know if there's anything I need to change!

Thanks!

I didn't listen to the whole thing, but did a spot check.

The technical settings are correct. You have a great voice and great vocal expression!

The beginning of the recording should only have 0.5 to 1 second of silence.

The whole thing (except for the loud parts - ha ha!) could use a volume boost. You want most of your wave forms to get up in the 0.5 to 1.0 range on the screen in Audacity. The portions where you yelled a bit (4:06-4:42) prevent the file from being amplified much.

To rectify this, you'd either need to tone down that yelling part (hee hee!) and then amplify the whole file, or play with some of the effects to level everything out.

I'll take sections 19-20 about the French Protestants if those are still available. :)

I want to confirm my claim for sections 07, 08, and 09, since the Magic Window hasn't been updated.
