A heads up to all book coordinators: I?ve updated the guidelines for how to be a book coordinator: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=425
Probably the only new information you will need is this:

This shouldn?t take much extra time and will make the cataloging process much smoother and quicker. Thanks!Collect the following information for every file: reader's name, reader's webpage url (if applicable), runtime in hour/minute/second format --- 00:32:14. Save this information in a text document (Notepad, MS Word, etc.) to be emailed to us later. You can have the readers get this information to you by posting it in the thread, sending a private message, or sending an email, whatever works.

Well I might as well get started on this then. I'll take the first and last chapter. I could really use help with all the stuff in between!

That was meant as a joke, but then I started reading through the chapter and realized that I may need a refresher course in the French pronunciation for this reading.
So far, I'm needing verification on the following words:
Buquet - ?
Lahore - ?
Siguar - ?
Comte - koNt or kohm-TAY
Daae - day?
Debienne - de-bee-yn?

You can definitely have chapter 2. Let me check with my wife or my brother in law on the French pronuciations. Maybe I can get her to record them and I'll post them.

Great! Thanks.... If you can get someone to record the basic words from this book I think that would help a lot of other readers as well =)vee wrote:You can definitely have chapter 2. Well, I went ahead and recorded chapter 2 with my best guesses at pronunciation. I was on a role and went right into chapter 3 as well (so sign me up for that one as well.) ... I'll work on editing over the next week or so. =)

Clembots - you got it thanks
thistlechick - sorry it took so long. you've got chpt 3 and please do not feel obliged to correct the pronunciations. Most of them are names so I'm not too concerned about anglisizing them

Hi, everyone.
I'm new to Librivox but I love "Phantom" and would love to participate.
By way of introduction, I'm a podcaster and technology trainer in El Paso, Texas. I've worked in radio for 15 years and been in community theater around El Paso for most of my life, including a three-year stint with my own theater company. My French is passable and I've read up on all the proper mechanics of recording these chapters.
I'm a big open-source software fan and I am fascinated with the concept of Librivox. As a teacher, I'm enamored with the possibilities Librivox can bring to the classroom.
With all that, I'm up for the big Chapter 5 - The Enchanted Violin. It's a little long, but I'll take a shot at it. I'd like to hear how some of the other chapters sound but I'll take a stab and if you all don't like it then I'll fix it!
I look forward to working with you all.
-Jamey
PS: btw, vee, there's free wireless at the Philly Convention Center and the Market adjacent (but you've probably already found it!)
