Lame I know, but I believe that my guide dog has the finest name a guide dog could ever have:
Watson.
He's a black Labrador and he's very well trained.
Does any one have a better name for a dog?

I know a gal who wanted to keep a dog, but her husband put his foot down. "No one can live here except me and you." So she named the dog "You". Then there is the name "Grandma." That one is exceedingly interesting to yell out the back door.
Anyone can read accurately. I read with great expression.

Catchpenny, I got a mental picture of the neighbors hearing you call out "Grandma!!" Hilarious! I like the name "You" too; women can so often outsmart men in some matters! Hee, hee! No offense, guys!
Bellona, good names all. I love Snoopy in Peanuts.
Jon, I like your dog's name! Got a good reliable, solid sound to it. And he sounds like a great dog. I'm assuming it's a he?
I like my newest (& probably last! Whew!) Chihuahua's name a lot. Even though he's not a show dog, his daddy is a champion and he has other champions in his pedigree. He's a long-haired Chi & just beautiful! It's a mouthful; it's "Windsong's Peregrin Took My Heart." We call him Pippin (he's nearly 2 & bugging me right now to pet him). He's a handsome boy! Yes, he's named after the hobbit in Lord of the Rings. The Windsong is from the breeder's kennel where we got him.
My other dogs also have long names--just for the fun of it. Our first long-haired Chi (who we had to let go of in June 2006; she was 17, though, & had a good long life) was: "Chiquita Bundle o' Joy" (I used my name in there); we called her Chi-Chi or Cheech. I still miss her.
My other two long-haired Chis--can you tell I'm in love with Chihuahuas? hence my user name LOL--are "Paco Buckwheat Bear" (he's 13); we call him Paco or Bear; & "Rosita Creamy Christmas Dream"; we call her Rosi or Rose (she's 7).
I don't think a dog name thread is lame at all, as you can see.

My dad doesn't like dogs, so I've never had the opportunity to have any, but when I do get dogs, I'm planning to get THREE of them, all brown in color, and name them Choco, Chip and Cookie.

The first family dog I remember was called Fido (don't judge me).

I once knew of an amputee dog named Yardstick. (Three feet, get it?)
Jon, I think Watson is a terrific name for a helper dog!

Too fun, dog names.
Mine came with their names, Cocoa and Daisy. But my friend Mike has two dogs named Lucy and Ethel, he thought it was funny. Dawn

The first dog I ever owned was called 'Pepper.'
Our current ones are called 'Griffen' and 'Alexander.'
How this contributes to the thread, I dunno, but...
