Hello to all,

I discovered LibriVox this past Friday after a hectic week of winding up the semester and grading exams. And it was a fortuitous discovery -- I enjoy so much the diversity -- of works and of voices. Wonderful! Exactly what I needed.

I gave a try at "The Road" and experienced more good fortune. To finish the semester, my students and I had studied selected WWI poets, reading Sassoon, Owen, and some others, but I had not seen "The Road." It's on my list for the next time, though!!

My students (seniors in high school) had little, if any, knowledge about WWI -- and even less about the poetry, but they were all struck by the words and emotions. I can hardly wait to get back in the classroom in January . . .

Thanks so much for this venue -- and I'd like to become a voice, too!

Cheers,

Welcome Dave =)

We're glad you're here. Feel free to browse the forums and when you're ready to start reading/recording, you can claim a chapter in the "Readers Wanted" section.

Your students are also welcome to join us in reading and listening.

Enjoy =)
