Actually, on my first couple of chapters, I intentionally didn't identify myself -- I was deciding how much exposure I really wanted, and whether to use my real name. I compromised by eventually deciding to put my name in the audio version, but stick to a nickname on the forum. Marina may feel similarly...

Fans? I doubt it. When the whole book is finished I was going to link it to my friends and tell them which chapter I read but that's about it. Still, maybe I should add my name and reupload it.

Seems a busy day for reading Carroll-- it's been a while since I've read this, and I'm always amazed when I do. It's timeless, this book: perfect. One of those you can read continuously for the rest of your life and feel you've read a different book each time. Thanks for getting it together!

Here's Chapter 4 then, in all its barking-free (and yes, ahem, wank-free) glory, clocking in around 19 megs:

Thanks, R, Raza, Miette and Chris! Sorry I've been quiet here--busy recording and editing but quietly collecting these and listening in the background. They sound great, one and all.

We're more than halfway now. I'll have mine done soon, I promise.

man, i'd have given anything to do a chapter here, but i just joined and seeing as it's all taken up... will there be a Through the Looking Glass? please say that's not done already, too... and if not, can i call a chapter of that now, as i'm guessing the crowd will be largely the same??? this is so exciting!

A heads up to all book coordinators: I?ve updated the guidelines for how to be a book coordinator: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=425

Probably the only new information you will need is this:
Collect the following information for every file: reader's name, reader's webpage url (if applicable), runtime in hour/minute/second format --- 00:32:14. Save this information in a text document (Notepad, MS Word, etc.) to be emailed to us later. You can have the readers get this information to you by posting it in the thread, sending a private message, or sending an email, whatever works.
This shouldn?t take much extra time and will make the cataloging process much smoother and quicker. Thanks!

Hello, Alice readers. I'm back from my long holiday today and will be picking up the ball I dropped and getting Alice done soon.

Update: all the files are collected and available for listening in this thread: http://www.librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=868

OK, except that I need to get Roger to resend me his files (the YouSendIt links expired while I was on holiday) we are in the home stretch!

I've posted the files in Listeners Wanted, so we should have some feedback soon. I hope there will be no major technical problems. Everything sounded OK when I spot-checked the files.

For the metadata in the catalog, can you please tell me what name you want to use (your username here, the name you said in your recording, etc), and if you have a URL you want to promote, please include that, too. You can post here or PM me as you wish.

Thank you to everyone. Now that this one is out of the way, I'll start Through the Looking Glass as a new collaborative project within the next couple of days.
