COMPLETE!! Richard II by Shakespeare - PL/cs

hello all. ok, maybe I?m getting a little forward here but if anyone's doing Henry V in the future, ( I read it in the first post), I?d love to read Henry, (my most favourite character in all of Shakespeare) ... I think that this librivox idea is just brilliant and would love to, ?do my bit? ?. in the mean time, as I haven't read a word yet on librivox, (and you probably think me some cocky upstart!), could I read a part in Richard II? i don't mind any part(s) except, (for now), a recurring character. let me know either way ... thanks ... michael

i'm not sure if this project is still alive, but i thought i would record the First Herald just for fun, and in case I does get back on track.

I don't like to be the bearer of less than great news... but I volunteered to read Hal/Henry for the next 3 plays and sent the files for Henry IV I to the coordinator. I think he wants the parts to be read by the same person... and I read Henry IV part I so that I would be able to do Henry V. My favorite as well...

Hi everyone, I've talked to John and he is quite busy with real life stuff so I'll be helping this project along until he has some time free up. I'm going through now to see where things stand and hopefully nothing has gone missing. Keep those parts coming everyone!

I'm working on reviving it! I'm glad you kept a copy on your computer because I don't think that file was grabbed in time. If you could post it again I'll grab it and mark you done. Thanks hugh! Want another??

Okay, forgive my denseness here, but are you talking about a character in a future play? I was getting rather confused and then that kinda clicked so please correct me if I'm wrong. But as I understand it, aragorn has dibs on the character Henry V for the plays Henry IV and V, right?? And Michael was hoping to read that same part. Perhaps we should start a section in the first thread that includes parts that are precast for upcoming plays to avoid this confusion.

In the meantime, would either of you be interested in reading a smaller part that is currently available? It looks like all of the recurring roles have been claimed. That way you can take a sizable part for Richard II and it shouldn't interfere with your participation in a future play. We still need the following:

Duke of SURREY
Earl of SALISBURY
Sir John BUSHY - Servant to Richard II
Sir John BAGOT - Servant to Richard II
Bishop of CARLISLE

Would either of you care for one of those?? And please, correct me if I'm wrong on the Henry V issue.

Annie,

I can do the First Servant, if you like. I have to be careful that anyone I take on doesn't talk to my other part, Richard, so I've kept away from this since I read his part. But if the servant is the one talking to York in Scene Two (three short speeches), then I'd be happy to read him.

Hey all - just checking it...

Aragorn44 is correct. Prince Hal in Henry IV 1 & 2 and King Henry V are the same person and it's the concept of this project that they be read by the same person.

Neat project. I'd much enjoy the part of Lord Fitzwater, and I could do Lord Marshall as well (if't pleases m'lords and ladeese [sic]), as they never interact with eachother. Are people doing multiple parts doing seperate voices/characterizations for each, or does it not matter since they don't interact? Also, in the intrest of consistency, is there an agreed-upon pronunciation of the name "Aumerle"? Thanks for the opportunity.

Kwahati - Welcome and thanks for jumping right in! I'll sign you up for those two parts. I think it is your choice whether to do different voices for the two characters but it shouldn't be a big deal since they don't interact and aren't huge parts.
