madera wrote:Hi there,

Perhaps this has already been answered, but I wasn't sure what kind of tune to give the song in Act II, Scene II, with Mrs. Inquest, Hedda, Aunt Judy and Madame Helseth.

Do you already have a tune picked out?
A very good point. I had entirely forgotten about this one (We're the Ib-sen Gib-son rickety rackety gells).

Bear with me, I will try and get something uploaded tomorrow, Tuesday.

No worries. I recorded a truly awful bit of warbling in character and then thought better of submitting it :)

I'll wait to upload until the music is up and I can try to match it.

Hi Ruthie,
Have you everything you need from me, or have I forgotten something? I have a niggle, but not sure what it is for...

You still have the joy of that awful song. :) Details in this post.

At least you only have to do the chorus... I have to do all the verses. When there is no-one in the house, I'd better do that. <groan>

Sorry, cast. I still haven't been able to find a tune those silly rickety-rackety words will fit. Still looking.

Tune for We're the Ibsen, Gibson, Rickety-rackety Gells

I gave up looking and made one up. It does, I have to confess, sound more like a sea shanty than anything else, but let's say that it just adds to the play's idiosyncracies.*

Here are the MP3 and PDF files in a zip:
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/ibsengirls.zip

*Now realises that idiosyncracy is spelled with an "s" in the US

EDIT: I have now added song details to the first post of the thread for easy reference.

The part of the Fairy has become available. It's a lovely part. :)

The part of Hedda is also now available - described as "a distinguished, fashionable person." I would describe her as a complete nutter, myself. Needs someone who can do a manic laugh, preferably.

Also sings (with others) the song "We're the Ibsen, Gibson, Rickety-rackety gells" and the chorus of "Oh poor old Mr Hasquith." See top post for details.

I'd like to claim the part of the Fairy please.

Do I do the fairy chorus as well?

I think I've found all the lines. I'm in Act 1 Scene 1 at the start, Act 1 Scene 2 at the very end, Act 2 Scene 2 in the middle and at the end and in the middle of Act 3.

I think I shall affect a rather posh accent for this, it seems to fit and should be amusing.

Sounds good. :) Yes, they are all the lines I could find, too. And the more the merrier for the Fairy Chorus, please. :D

I'd like to attempt Hedda. I may be a flop, but it'd be a fun flop.

That was fun!

Act 1 (1:14):

Act 2 (0:38):
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/cinderella_Fairy_2.flac

Act 3 (1:27):
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/cinderella_Fairy_3.flac

And the Fairy Chorus (0:23):

Any constructive criticism welcomed. And let me know if my accent is at all inconsistent, or the volume changes too much, this part is short and enjoyable enough that I don't mind re-recording.

Edit: Bah, I missed the part about no capitals. Let me know if you want me to change the filenames and reupload.
