Welcome, Payam!

I'f you'd like to give a hand translating the homepage in Farsi, I could create the wiki pages you can work on before it is implemented.
Shall I?

Yes I would definitely want to help get this done. Can you please tell me what the breadth of the project would be. How much content needs to be translated and in what time frame?

Hi Sasha

Yes I would appreciate the help. When it comes to translation I insist on being dead accurate so it would be nice to have someone helping, especially because my Persian leaves much to be desired!! I know some of the best website people in the country so I will be trying to get them to help out too.

But for now I am interested to know what I would be getting myself into :) I wouldn't want to take the responsibility on board and end up not delivering!

Waiting for more details ....

OK, Payam.

The Farsi translation's page is here: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/FarsiHomepageTranslation

If you want to have a look at what has been done with other languages, you might like to have a look here (the translations marked "done" are complete): http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/LibrivoxHomepageTranslation
On the top of that page, there are two links you should go to and read before getting started: "How-To in Forum" (how to register to the wiki) and "Some specific info".

Welcome Sasha!
The poem have to have been first published before 1923 in the USA to be in the public domain there (that's where our files are hosted so we have to go by USA's law for the PD status).
It would be great to have books in Farsi! :-)

Dear ezwa

Thanks for the wiki files , I started translating just a few lines . I've got a little problem I want to ask for help. I need to change the translated text's direction to "Right To Left " as Farsi language is written RTL. and I'm totally new to Wiki :P . Is there a way ?

Ah, right. I didn't think of that.

There's probably a way but I don't know it.
I'll see what I can find out and keep you posted.

Hi Sasha,

Sorry for taking so long.

Could you have a look at the Farsi on this page?: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/FarsiHomepageTranslationRighttoLeftTrial

I feel it's not right but I may be wrong.

I do not know how to implement writing from right to left on the Homepage. :hmm:

Could anyone help with the wiki and know what to do in wordpress to use Farsi, Arabic,...

Cheers,
Ezwa

From this thread:
LibriPL wrote:Hello!

I am interested in translating LibriVox site interface into Polish and Russian.
I haven't noticed any info anybody started the similar projects so far.

There are the source texts:

http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/PolishHomepageTranslation (PL)
and
http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/RussianHomepageTranslation (RU)
on your site.

Is it all?
ezwa wrote:Welcome, LibriPL!

The two links you point to are the ones where the translations should be worked on.
When it's done, an admin should implement them linking from the Home Page.
The thread where we discuss about those translations is here: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2462 (I'll copy your post there).
And there's some more info here: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=180891#180891 .

Here's how to register on the wiki: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=38026#38026 .

Welcome, Armin !
Thanks for the offer. IT would be most welcome.
You may like to get in touch with Sasha who started the translation in Farsi.

The content that needs to be translated is here: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/FarsiHomepageTranslation

Sasha pointed out that we need to work from right to left.
Could you check this page and tell me whether the Farsi appears correctly?

If it does, the next step will be to work out how to implement it in wordpress. :?

Hello.
I've found Librivox has not been localized to Japanese and I'd like to translate Librivox Homepage to Japanese. Now, I need to ask you something:
Is there anybody who's already started Japanese translation?
And, Is there something I have to do or I need to know particularly, except for http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=180891#180891 and http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/TemplateHomePageTranslation ?

Thanks for reading.

Welcome, KataGatar!

As far as I know, noone has started a translation in Japanese yet.
I've created a page in Japanese so that you can get started: http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/JapaneseHomepageTranslation

I think that's just about all one needs to know.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate.

I've completed the template and need to make the updates to a few pages. I'll keep you all posted as I go. Some languages were completely done but will be needing some more translating after the update.

Cheers.

EDIT : the Chinese template is updated with a few more things to be translated.
