[COMPLETE] Robert Burns 250th Anniversary - rg
Section 2 is uploaded. I had to do some noise reduction, let me know if I need to tweak that. I saved the pre NR project as well as post.

Joseph, I have reconsidered, and I should like to try 14 To a Mouse - on the strict understanding that if it isn't good enough, someone else may do it. I have always loved the poem, it's just the pronunciation that worries me.

Any true Scotch (?) I've heard spoken, 'til a bit hard to understand anyway; unless you are sort of tuned into itRuthieG wrote: I have always loved the poem, it's just the pronunciation that worries me.

Well, I have this horrible feeling that I have lapsed into a Welsh accent... and an even horribler feeling that any Scot is going to take one listen and groan or worse.
But, here is my effort:

Now, remember, nobody is to be remotely kind to me. I really want to know if it is offensive to the Scottish ear.

Ach, I didn't know that it disagreed with apostrophes. I will upload it with the apostrophe removed.

Andy, I just had to listen to this. I opened it in audacity as I thought you were clipping and indeed you were. That's when the wav form hits the tops and bottoms and flattens out causing distortion. Your voice varies a lot during the recording; from really quiet to really loud.paradise.camouflage wrote:Here it is, it should work now.

Also you have DC offset where the center line of the recording is off center (0.0) To fix this, select all and go to "edit" "normalize" click the "remove DC offset" and normalize maximum amplitude to -2db.

I hope that you enjoyed my reading, despite the audio problems. I am often absolutely terrible at these technical things - often it seems like some unpenetrable new language. I have done what you recommended and will upload it, hopefully it will be better then.
Best wishes,
Andy
