Announcement:
The deadline is tonight, but I won't be able to catalog it until next Friday or Saturday.
If people still want to submit recordings in the meantime, feel free to do so.

Hi,

I decided to give "The Chaos" a shot, I'm sure it's probably riddled with mistakes.

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/jc/chaos_trenite_mjb.mp3

Runtime: 4 mins and 12 seconds.

I hope it's okay technically, I still haven't figured out the noise reducing thing (there might potentially be someone chanting in the background - I couldn't hear it, so hopefully it's not there.

Thanks,

Margaret

Well, it looks like I was able to fit it all in under the wire; I found myself home from work early tonight... Have a good week, Jc.

I took a quick glance, and it doesn't look like it's got much noise. I can't listen to it right now (family watching TV right beside), so I'll listen to it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Thanks for the file!

Dear Alan,

Thank you very much for your comment on my blog "Du Holde Kunst".

I quite agree with you that there are many - if not infinite - ways of rendering The Chaos. If I chose to transliterate (and record) it according to the Received Pronunciation as noted by D. Jones' about fifty years ago, it is not only because I am not reasonably acquainted with other accents than British RP but also because, in my opinion, - being conservative (refractory to regularization) - RP is the rendering which produces the most incongruities and, consequently, the most fun. I daresay that these were the author's goals.

Cheers
