Sections 50 and 51

May both be a little on the soft side- need a second opinion.

Section 50 just appears to need about 4 more seconds of silence at the end.

Overall, files are excellent!

hello,

regarding section 73.. its a whole line got silenced around there (long pause 6:53-7). I'll fix that up and upload it again. Do you not read it against the text???

I am having problems with audacity while editing. On big files, it is crashing in every 15 mins, reverting lots of changes that i make. And so funny things like this are happening. Anybody else having same problems and know how to avoid that?

Thanks,
Ashwin

Ashwin,
The only time we read against the text is when the BC asks for word-perfect proof-listening. Most projects have standard proof-listening, which means that you just listen through for repeats and errors of the kind that happened with your file. It's not as thorough, but it's good enough for most files, and it frees people to do other things (like chores) while proof-listening.
I remember how, in college, I got that part-time job as a circus clown, and how the children would laugh and laugh at me. I vowed, then and there, that I would get revenge.

Finally finished up Part 2. Thanks for bearing with me on this; out of some misplaced sense of pride I wanted very badly to complete an entire part of this work on my own. (Also for the benefit the listener in the spirit of continuity -- or, alternately, a curse if one can't bear the sound of my voice!)

43 - 7:28 - http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/cm/zarathustra_43_nietzsche_common.mp3

44 - 9:16 - http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/cm/zarathustra_44_nietzsche_common.mp3

Looking forward to seeing this one finally wrap up.

EDIT: Ch. 44 called for a whispering voice. Hopefully it works. Didn't seem right to speak it normally...

Sections 41-44 - excellent! And the whispering part in Section 44 is very well done indeed! [/size]

Hopefully we get this reading done by the target date of 15th October (2008). I tried to contact The Purple Poodle to find out how it is going but no response. At least oneinmany posted on this thread back in July.

If they don't do it by 4th October, perhaps we can free the chapers for reassignment? That gives them a month to finish or provide a status update. I don't know what librivox policy is on this - are there any precedents?

Any thoughts?

Hi Tim,

I messaged the Purple Poodle a few days ago - if he doesn't respond, expect that section to be orphaned early next week. Also just messaged oneinmany.

Cheers,
Carl.

For you Nietzsche fans, I created a thread suggesting a reading of The Gay Science.

Thanks for saying so. I was fairly nervous about it; thought it might be inappropriate... :>

If sections do become open and need finishing, I can take one or two. It's been a very long time since this project began, and it'll be remarkable to see it finished. Just drop me a forum PM if you need a hand/voice/foot.
