Hi Waffle,

Ben is very nicely read indeed.

However, your silences between lines are quite short (and missing altogether in some cases). Can you please add silence to bring them all up to at least 3 seconds (right now they're only 1 or two seconds). This applies to all of your lines, even those that have just a word or two between them, like "he said" or "she said." This silence helps the editor paste together the speeches properly. If they're too close together, it's very hard to cut and paste them in the right place.

I started to list all the times where the extra silence is needed, but they're so close together that it's hard to list them all. Below are the first few, but can you please also go through the rest of your recording with the text in front of you and add silence between all of your lines? Any place where there are words read by someone other than you needs a 3 to 5 second silence. You can copy and paste the silence from the end of your recording for this purpose (there's 3 seconds of silence there you could use).
  • after your voice credit and before your first line at 0:03
  • At 0:07, right after “It’s just jolly” and before the next “it’s just jolly.”
  • At 0:11, before and after
“No?”
  • At 0:15 or so (this one’s better, but still a bit too short), after “you don’t say so, Chick!”
  • At 0:16 before “I wish we could be rich now then,”
  • At 0:19 before “in time for mamsie’s birthday,”
  • At 0:23, before “How are you going to do it?” (and after that line).
  • At 0:30, before “let’s think, though…”
Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks,
Winnifred

Yes, that's much better. A couple are still a bit under 3 seconds, but they're close enough. You'll just have to watch out for those silences in your next chapters. Better to have too much than too little. The standard is between 3 and 5 seconds. I know that feels like a long time, but it really does help the editor.

Spot PL OK.

Thanks,
Winnifred
