Thank you! Just a note on your filename. When you name it, don't include "mp3" at the end. The program automatically appends that when you export because that's the file format you've chosen. (If you look at your URL, you can see that .mp3 is there twice.) So the filename just ends with "_128kb"

No need to change it at this point. If you have PL Notes and have to correct other things, you can save it with the correct filename before you resubmit. Otherwise, it can be changed by the MC during cataloging.

Let's see what the PL has to say!

Just read about this in the Maxwell Perkins biography and have been meaning to read it. I would love to take the next four available chapters, which looks like IX through XII.

Hi, Ryan, and welcome to Librivox! That's great that you were already interested in the book.

To get started recording, you need to do your 1-minute test. It's not an audition - it just lets you make sure that all your settings are configured to Librivox requirements, so that you know they're right once you start recording actual sections for a project.

For brand new readers, I only assign 1 section to start with. That way you get feedback right away, and once you get the OK on that first section I'll assign a couple more.

When you get the OK on your 1-minute test, please come back here and post again that you're ready to claim a section.

And I need one more thing to officially assign that first section - the name you would like to be listed under in the catalog. It can be your same screen name, your real name, or a nickname of your choosing.

I look forward to hearing from you when you have your test squared away.

I'd like to go ahead and claim sections 08, 09 and 10. I have already recorded my sections 04 and 05 and they are awaiting editing.

Thank you.

Oh oh...I just realized that someone previously requested 9-12, although you are awaiting the results of his test.

I did request 8, 9 and 10, but I can do just 8 for now and will request more later. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

Hi Rita, I told him to come back and let me know when he passed his test, and he hasn't responded. That was a week and a half ago. None of the sections have been assigned to him, and you have 8-10.

Terribly sorry, but I need a bit more time. I haven’t had a chance to do any reading due to circumstances beyond my control. Hope that’s not a problem.

Hi Bart -
No problem, life does get crazy sometimes. I gave you two more weeks, new due date 3/20. I'll make that a hard deadline so that the project can proceed if you don't get it done. You'll always be welcome to come back and claim something else if you can't make it.

I hope everything's ok. Take care.
