Hello! Sorry for replying late. I wasn't aware I had my email notifications turned off.
I will PL the section soon, in about 2-3 days.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity : )

Cryptic
section 4 is in the MW for PL.
There is no rush, you can PL at your convenience.
My progress is slow too.
Hey!
I'll PL the sections as soon as possible.

Hi dckabir,

I'm new to LibriVox. Today only I got my 1 minute test completed and ready to take up the new reading project.

I have skimmed through the existing and db and besides the long backlog of English books, I was much interested in taking up the Panchatantra book. However, upon learning that all the chapters have been assigned to you, I wish to check if there is any way I can contribute to the reading of any chapter(s) with you.

Thanks!

Congratulations and welcome to LV!
I'm happy to know that you are interested in this book. I'll come back to this in a bit.

I'm sure you have already looked through the various forums and projects we have going in Librivox.
Under the wider umbrella of Forums , you'll find Multilingual, Short works, Books, Drama.
A reader can claim chapters or sections in any of the group projects under these forum heads.
In some projects like Multilingual short works or open poem or story collection, you can contribute any work that is in the public domain ( published before 1927 I think)
In solo projects forum however a reader chooses to read a book all by themselves. This project has been started as a solo project, read in Hindi.

Having said that, since we don't have many Hindi speaking volunteers I chose to go solo on this project.
If you are comfortable reading in Hindi and very keen on this project, I wouldn't mind some help. The meta coordinators of projects can change the project types to dual or group if we request.
I would recommend however that before you commit to a lengthy project, you claim some sections in the short works projects if you like. Think about it and let me know. I'll be happy to help in any way.

Regards
dc

Hi! Let me echo DC's welcome. :)

The multilingual project DC was referring to is the Multilingual Short Works Collection, which would be a perfect place to submit your first recording if you'd like to read a Hindi text:

viewtopic.php?t=103423

There are detailed instructions in the first post of the thread. I highly recommend that you check with us in the project thread to verify that the text you pick meets LibriVox's public domain requirements before you record it.

Generally, you're welcome to participate in any project you find in a forum whose name starts with "Readers Wanted". The projects in the Going Solo forum are solo projects, as the name suggests. It sounds like DC is willing to make an exception and open some of the sections here to other readers (which would make it a collaborative project), but it would be a good idea to contribute some sections to current collaborative projects first.

Thank you, Michael and dckabir! Really appreciate your inputs!

I'll probably look for some other unassigned books and start contributing.

Looking forward to contributions from you. Feel free to reach out for any queries. Everyone at LV is extremely helpful and kind.
As suggested by us before, it'll be great if you start by reading short works like a short story, poem, essay etc for the multilingual short works viewtopic.php?t=103423
or in the english short works forum viewforum.php?f=19

Best wishes!

Michael, please delete the line for section 9 in the MW. While filling the MW, I must have duplicated it in the process of correcting the story name.
I have uploaded section 10 now.

Thank you

Done.

Our DPL hasn't been around in a long while. Let me know if you'd like to look for a new one.

Considering my own pace with the project, I'm not in a hurry yet for PLing. I think we could wait another month before taking that call.
Worst case, I'll PL the book once I've finished reading it

Thank you Michael!
