Praise received for chymocles (Thomas A. Copeland) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hello, Please forward my thanks to Thomas Copeland for his wonderful
readings of Edgar Rice Burroughs "John Carter" series. I've just
discovered these gems of well-wrought and well-thought tales in the last
few months and Thomas' reading has made them so pleasant to hear. I
really appreciate his work.

Best regards, Elyse

Praise received for marmenta (Michael Armenta) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Mr. Armenta:

Bible (KJV), Complete
King James Version (KJV)
Michael Armenta (marmenta)

Countless hours I have spent listening to your reading of the KJV Bible from Librivox. It didn’t occur to me until recently I should seek a way to thank you for your unselfish labor of love. It is hoped this email will reach you so you may be reassured that all the time you spent on such an enormous undertaking has been spiritually edifying to me, and likely countless others. There was no distracting music or over emotionalism; just a pure and accurate reading of the Scriptures. May God bless you for your love and generosity.

Warmest regards,
Glenn, Coudersport, PA

Praise received for bgdavid (David Clarke) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Please pass an amazing thank you to David for his reading of 'The Count of Monte Cristo'. I have more than enjoyed his interpretation. It must have been a daunting task to undertake reading this mammoth book and yet his reading was consistent from chapter one to the last.

Thank you David!

Praise received for cobalt100 (Caden Vaughn Clegg) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
I am a high school student and the audio of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein read by Caden Vaughn Clegg literally saved me. There is no way for me to fully express how much this audio saved me. I have a really difficult time comprehending the language of romantic era literature and this really helped in my understanding of the novel. So genuinely thank you so much and you guys are so very appreciated! <3

Love and Friendship by Jane Austen: thanks for your perfectly suited voice and phrasing. I usually prefer British readers of English novels but not in your case!

Praise received for pointysticks (Brenda Dayne) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear mrs. Dayne

It took me quite a long time to find a female voice that had the same warmth I had hitherto experienced by only one other reader. That particular reader being male who, by nature gifted with a deep voice, was up until I discovered your beautifully read "The Age of Innocence" the only reader who could keep both my attention and soothe my senses at the same time. I am very grateful to you for giving so much listening pleasure in your exceptionally clear and agreeable voice.

Praise received for InTheDesert (InTheDesert) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Dear Sir

I am writing to thank you for a number of recordings of yours which I have listened to. I acknowledge the great labour and pains you have taken to record such valuable books. At present I am listening to your recording of Joseph Milner's Church History. I hadn't heard of it till it was referenced in something I read by the great Henry Martyn. I am visually impaired, so audio recordings are especially precious and important to me.

I am an evangelical Christian minister, serving St Silas' Church, Wolverhampton, an Anglican church outside the established C of E. The books that you have recorded will, I trust, the Lord helping me, greatly contribute to the profitableness of my own preaching and ministry.

I cannot thank you enough. I give great praise to the Lord who has enabled you to do these recordings.

Kyle

I have been listening to some of the Hardy Boys titles here by James R. Hedrick.

They are really good and wish there were more available.

I found this site completely by chance.

Thanks,

Praise received for Steampunk (James Christopher) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
https://librivox.org/gulliver-of-mars-by-edwin-l-arnold/

When I tried to read "Gulliver of Mars" for myself, I found its prose wearisome.

But listening to James Christopher reading it was engaging and entertaining.

Praise received for TheBanjo (Peter Dann) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hello Peter Dann,

I’m reaching out to thank you again for your skillful performances of Conrad’s books. I’ve made a project of trying to read all of his works, and you’ve taken me brilliantly through the last half-dozen. I absorb them through cell phone and earbuds while walking forest trails in the evenings, and I’m sometimes unaware of the distance traveled, so rapt do I become in Conrad’s invention and in your evocative renderings of narrative and character. Thank you so much for making his work accessible to me in this way!!

Bill
Massachusetts, U.S.

P.S. I’m a big Melville fan, too, so much so that my wife has suggested I might try to perform a reading. Well, I attempted a chapter of Moby-Dick, and the results were quite straggly and uneven—it made me appreciate the serious skill and effort you bring to achieve your splendid readings.
and...
Dear Mr. Dann:

I much enjoyed Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe: thanks for your perfectly suited voice and nicely modulated phrasing, which maintain my interest even through a long work!

https://librivox.org/moll-flanders-by-daniel-defoe-2/

And now I'm onto The Odyssey, which is equally compelling, though I can't help thinking sometimes of Moll Flanders (the madeleine effect; and my wife is from Sydney, which probably helps).

best wishes,

Nathaniel

Praise received for gypsygirl (Karen Savage) from our 'Thank a reader' feature:
Hi Karen,

Thank you. Thank you so sincerely. I discovered your work years ago when I first listened to your Jane Austen recordings, and returned to them again this year.

I struggle with my health, and the main sport I do is swimming. I aim to go as long as possible - hours of lengths - and last year I found bone conductor headphones that meant I could take mp3s underwater with me. I went back to Librivox.

Picture an indoor pool in different modes - aquafit in the mornings, the children's hour, couples frolicking, and myself a swamp monster going back and forth, accompanied often by your wonderful recordings of Austen's works.

I am now on Anne of Green Gables - which I haven't read since childhood (and it was an abridged story tape). How delightful to discover you've done so many Anne books!

Swimming can often be about mental focus/serenity as much as physical stamina, and knowing I have Anne Shirley to keep me company in the weeks ahead is exciting and reassuring.

So again thank you so much for all the time and effort you put in.

I hope all is well in your life.

Best wishes,
Hannah
