Laughed about students running down Elm Street!
American coffee? Well, then there's Haitian coffee where we walked through the coffee bushes and the beans were drying outside and then roasted over an open fire. Served in small cups with about equal amounts of sugar. I tried to tell visitors not to drink a full cup. Those that did had a buzz that lasted all day.

Yes, I have everything waiting for PL.
I'm in intensive rehearsals for a live stage play that opens in 8 days, so my time is limited, but I will get to it in due course. After opening night, the schedule actually relaxes. Thanks for everyone's patience.

No worries. And good luck with that (or...break a leg?). I just wanted to make sure you hadn't overlooked it. Thanks.silverquill wrote: ↑November 14th, 2024, 10:38 amYes, I have everything waiting for PL.

Hi there silverquill, is there an update on this? Was the issue resolved?JoshonTape wrote: ↑October 15th, 2024, 4:24 pm"knotyouraveragejo" is the one who did it.silverquill wrote: ↑October 15th, 2024, 1:36 pm
Well, that helps to clear up some confusion about the confusion among these three user names. I'll see if I can get this straightened out. I have been going in circles . . . . Hmmm. The use name JoshonTape is not coming up on the member list when I try to add it. Do you know which Admin made the change for you? Might check with them to make sure it went through properly. I'm not sure what the process is.

But, if it doesn't seem to be, please PM Jo directly as and admin is the only one who can make the changes. Then if there is still something I need to do on this project, I'll get it done. I'm just doing a quick check in, so can't research at the moment. Helping in a big event, and then rehearsal -- we open in just a week. After that, things will actually ease up.

Sorry for the delay in PL, but my schedule is now freed up, and I should be able to catch up.
Nice recording, but there are a few issues that need attention.
First, the volume is too high, coming in at 94.3 decibels. You should also see this as the exaggerated wave form in Audacity. Our target for volume is 89 dB with an acceptable range of 86 - 92. You can use the amplification feature in Audacity to adjust this be setting a value of -5
Then, if you could trim the opening silence so that it is under one second, that would be good.
One recording note: In the closing, please end the chapter number -- "End of Chapter twelve." (I didn't hear "twelve.")
Finally, when you upload the corrected file, please correct the file name, adding and "s" as, "essaysonthings" You can just copy and paste from the template given in the instructions.
Then, upload the new file, post the link and new running time here again so I can give it a final check.
PS: You might find this little program useful to check the volume and other LV specs:
Checker https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker, written specifically for LibriVox. Just drag a file into the Checker window to check validation on all LV specs, including a readout of actual volume in decibels. Use the Amplification feature in Audacity to bring the volume closer to the LV target of 89 dB.
