Hello, Could I read Ripening Rubies? It's been a long time since I have read for librivox so I hope I remember how to do everything.

This is in the MW for PL - I should be able to listen to it later today.

I snagged it off the recording this time, but don't forget to include duration every time you post a URL (including not only the first time, but also if it's a correction - even if it hasn't changed).

Jewel Mysteries sec. 9

Hi AK—
Looks like you were gone from LV for awhile and have reappeared – welcome back!!

This is a lot of commentary, but not that big of a deal to take care of everything. Here we go…

I am going to send this back to you for more editing before I PL the rest of this. As you can see, there are three instances in the first quarter or so of the recording where you left an error in. Please listen through the whole recording for me and make sure that all your corrections are made.

As a tip, it might be kind of hard to delete these, because you say the correct version immediately after the incorrect, and within the phrase, without pausing. For easiest editing results, take a brief pause, then repeat the phrase the error was in. That way, you can clip out the whole wrong phrase and the correct one will be left. Trying to fix one word in the middle of a phrase or sentence is really hard. If you’re unable to do the clip on these and make them sound good, just rerecord and replace the phrase.

A couple of other notes:
Volume only 83.8, minimum standard for LV is 86. (Range is 86-92.)
If you run your .mp3 file through Checker, it will tell you what your volume is. Remember when you amplify, it also amplifies background noise, so listen to the new file after amplifying to see if you need to run a pass of noise reduction.

1:31 It sounds like you say Contents of Dunholm rather than Countess of Dunholm
Middle of story’s second paragraph

And then the self-corrections that were left in:

7:02 Self-correction of “amazing” not deleted in “amazing mystery of the season’s thefts”
Top of paragraph that starts, “When she was gone…”

11:23 Self-correction of “interval” not deleted in “make an interval tolerable”
Near end of paragraph that starts “There were few people…”

11:38 Self-correction of “ostentatiously” not deleted in “ostentatiously made room for me…”
End of paragraph that starts “There were few people…”

Remember to save with the same file name, then upload again and put another note in the forum that it’s there. And include the duration :D

MW reset to "Assigned."

No worries! And no need to be embarrassed. You are just getting back into the saddle after a lot of years away. And we're glad you're back! I'll look forward to your re-do :D

Just a quick note… please use the leading zero e.g. _09_ otherwise the file will be placed in position 90 at cataloguing  No need to change it here.

An exciting story, and a very good read!! PL OK.

As a reminder, when you post your URL, always post the duration as mm:ss. I just snagged this one off the recording at 46:46. It just saves us a bit of time to have it given to us by the reader.

Good job, and welcome back!

Thank you.
I wasn't sure where to get the file size so I got it off the mp3 file size. And I understand about the leading zero. I will try to do it right going forward.

The file size doesn't matter to us for the purpose of turning things in. Just snag the end time off of Audacity, or the length of the. mp3 after you export it.
