A Roger Sheringham mystery In a typical English country house, a murder is committed. The wealthy Victor Stanworth, who'd been playing host to a party of friends, is found dead in the library. At first it appears to be suicide, for the room was undoubtedly locked. But could there be more to the case? As one of the guests at Layton Court, gentleman sleuth Roger Sheringham begins to investigate. Many come under suspicion, but how could anyone have killed the man and gotten out of the room, leaving it all locked behind?

Yes. The easiest way is to put a ~ before the book title in the subject line of the first post (which I have now done).

Looks like an interesting story, and it just squeaks in under the PD rules for Canada. I'd be delighted to DPL for you, Anne, if you'll have me.

Cheers,
Winnifred

Good thing I didn't wait until later in the day to claim, as I'd originally planned! I guess the Canadian thing to do now is to say "Oh. Sorry."

Well, you'll probably get the next one.... In the meantime, there's a chapter of The Mark of Cain waiting for you.

Cheers,
Winnifred

Thank you, Winnifred! Sorry to be so long in replying--the endless summer we've been having in Toronto has lured me outdoors a lot.

Sunny you should say that about sorry--I'm writing a short story and last night I put in a joke about that. I guess there are worse reputations to have. :)

Well, you should absolutely enjoy that while you can! No need to apologize.

Our summer is well over here on the west coast; winds blew the top off one of the evergreens behind our building yesterday. I have no reasons to stay off LibriVox anymore. Safer inside!

Cheers,
Winnifred
