Stressful and busy here as well. Sometimes I think we will never get to the end of the paperwork! Tomorrow we will sign the papers agreeing to allow them to market my mom's house. I'm so happy to have her in walking distance now where I can pop over and take care of any little thing.

Chapter VII is PL OK.

I think we may have had our last warm weather of the summer. It was really rather a normal summer here, unlike most of the rest of this country and Europe.

Hi

So sorry for the long gap; life has been somewhat hectic.

Hope you and Helen are doing well after your hectic summer.

There is one small thing I suspect you will want to correct -- "am I" instead of "I am" at 3:46.

Thanks! It sounds great now. I don't know how you do those patches so perfectly. Mine are always noticeable--a difference in volume or the "feel" of the ambient or something.

Here is Chapter 9

It feels quite comforting to get more information about characters from previous books!

Enjoy your week

Hi

Here is Chapter 10. I re-recorded it because of a constant hum; it still seems that there is something faint in the background - if it needs rerecording because of the reproduction quality please say.

Nick,

I just realized this morning that I wasn't getting emails from this thread. I'll get to the files today and tomorrow. Posting this will probably fix the email issue.

Both chapters 9 and 10 are PL OK. I don't hear a hum in the background, so you must have taken care of it.

Hope all is well with you and Helen. Everything is well here. I even attended a large tech conference in San Francisco last month--the last item on my "return to normal" list after the pandemic. It has taken a while to get there!

Hi

Here is Chapter 11,

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/lastchronicle_11_trollope_128kb.mp3 31:50.4

We are fine, although with a lot going on. However the father of our eldest son's wife had a third heart attack when clearing gutters from their garage roof, and fell onto theeir conservatory roof; despite air ambulance and rapid response from paramedics, their was quite a delay before his heart could be restarted and he has suffered brain damage. He is now in what is known as a stable condition - no longer in intensive care - but it is still touch and go how much he will be able to do when eventually he comes out of hospital.

We shall be making coffee and tea and sandwiches (bacon, gluten and dairyfree bacon, cheese, vegan and gluten and dairy free) and hot chocolate including vegan for the annual London to Brighton rally for veteran cars (including penny farthing and bone-shaker riders) in our church on Sunday. Great fun, bu quite tiring - the first ones coming through to us any time from about 7 - they start in central London at dawn!

Chapter 11 is PL OK.

So sorry to hear about your son's father-in-law. A fall from the roof was how we lost my father-in-law, more than 30 years ago.

I had to use Google to find out what penny farthing and bone shaker riders were. So interesting! That would be something to see.

Hi

Here is Chapter XII

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/lastchronicle_12_trollope_128kb.mp3 28.03.4

But I am having problems with the quality of the recording - or with my headphones listening to it.

If it needs re-recording, please tell me.

When I listen with my headphones, I can tell you fade a bit from time to time, especially in the first and last paragraphs of the chapter. And you sound a very little bit tinny, or under water at those times. But listening through speakers, I cannot hear anything unusual. Honestly, if you had not called my attention to it, I'm not sure I would have noticed. I don't think you need to re-record it.

There is a missing phrase: "you need fear nothing" missing at 6:31.

Hi

Thanks.

I have added the missing phrase = I must have deleted it by accident, as I had recorded it!

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/lastchronicle_12_trollope_128kb.mp3 28:05.1

Life is somewhat hectic at the moment, as Helen fainted in the bathroom on Wednesday night, and found herself in a pool of blood when she came to. The doctor has ordered a number of tests to ffind out why.
She has a multi-coloured face at present!
I am due to have a video consultation with a consultant tomorrow, to sort out having cataracts done.
And we are in the middle of our church being a collecting point for Samaritan's Purse shoe-boxes, which Helen organises.
So your prayers would be welcomed.

I hope all is well with you and your family.
