Volume Issues
I use Audacity 3.7 on an iMac running Sequoia 15.1 and a Blue Yeti mic. My audio always passes with the warning, "Volume falls outside the target range of 86-92 db". Is there any way to adjust this? I played around with the gain, but nothing seemed to work.
In Audacity you should be able to use the menu option Effect>Amplify, from there you can adjust the sound. To find out where your sound is on the checker, you can click the "Information" tab and see what dB your recording is at. Then, in the Amplify section, you can say to increase by the allotted dB or decrease.klbrooks wrote: ↑November 1st, 2024, 7:20 am I use Audacity 3.7 on an iMac running Sequoia 15.1 and a Blue Yeti mic. For example, if your recording was at 93dB, you could tell Amplify to change by -4 to drop it to be around 89db which is the optimum level.
If it was at 85dB, you would change by +4.
I hope this helps

Not sure what you mean by played around with the gain. The gain control is the knob on the back of the Yeti. This is your primary input control. If the input is too low. check the Sound panel in your System Settings, and make sure the input (little mic icon) is will to the right. Also, make sure the Yeti is in fact your selected input device and not the Mac's internal mic.
