Death Below the Dam, by Esther Fonseca

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/death-below-the-dam-by-esther-haven-fonseca/

The body was found at five-thirty of a dark March morning, hanging head down in a tree, ten feet from the ground. There was a small, clean bullet hole in the back of the head, but there was no blood visible. It had been washed away, all of it, and even the garments that covered the cold limbs were dripping wet.

Raging flood waters…an isolated island…and a nude murderer at large in the storm! (Summary by The Narrator)
Source text (please read only from this text!): https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=umn.31951002066674e&seq=53

Target completion date: 2024-12-01

Prooflistening level: Standard
Prospective PLs, please see the Guide for Proof-listeners.

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the number of languishing projects on our server, we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't recorded anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process unless you are the BC or PL. Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

The text is listed as US public domain by HathiTrust, but I have not been ale to find any info on the author such as year of death, so non-US folks need to be aware. The book is divided into sx parts, all of which would exceed an hour so I am splitting them all in half about. The book uses Part One, etc. Saying Part One Part 1 sounds stupid, so I would prefer it's allowed to instead use Part One, and then Part One Continued for the second half. For the purposes of LibriVox I'd just use Section 1, 2, etc.

OK, your MW is ready! I think your plan for how to name the sections is a good one! We will wait here a day or so to see if we can pick up a DPL.

C’mon folks. No takers? Anybody want to PL? Old hands, newbies and first-timers all welcome. Don’t be shy. Honestly it won’t hurt a bit.

Mark, I queued your section up earlier today - It was a super busy weekend among my recorders, so if I can't get to yours this evening, I'll catch it tomorrow. :) If I ever take more than 48 hours to PL something without letting you know a deluge came in or I'm on the road, feel free to check that I hadn't missed it.
