LCaulkins wrote: October 1st, 2024, 5:09 am So nice of you to foster this one, Winnifred. 😀 I've noticed that the software always lists the names assigned to a section in the order of our reader numbers.
I did a bit part, then watched it languish for months. Couldn’t help myself. Now if only I could fill those two remaining parts… I’m seriously considering doing The Wouldbegoods next. Several readers have already expressed an interest.

Names in order of reader numbers makes total sense. Computers don’t understand anything but numbers.

Cheers,
Winnifred

It occurs to me that I've not done a part yet. This "Albert-Next-Door" fellow seems alright, and he really can't help if he's not the cleverest on the block. Might I have a go?

Marvellous! You can be a great whiny 10-year-old, right?

Thanks,
Winnifred

I'll give it my best! It's not like I've ever been a whiny 10-year-old before...

Just one note for this chapter. At 4:39, I hear “…and the poem he wrote when Eliza took us to hear the Revving Preacher,…” But the text reads “…and the poem he wrote when Eliza took us to hear the Reviving Preacher,…” which is rather a different thing. I think this needs to be fixed.
Wayne, could we impose on you to re-record just one sentence and upload it in a file on its own, so Krista can insert it to replace what I've pointed out above? If you could just record:

"There was the 'Wreck of the Malabar', and the poem he wrote when Eliza took us to hear the Reviving Preacher, and everybody cried, and Father said it must have been the Preacher's Eloquence."

That way, Krista can pick out just the words she needs to patch over that bit.

Many thanks,
Winnifred

Please note that I'll be away for the next week, but I will be back!
Chapter 5 is PL OK.

Cheers,

In the interests of keeping things moving, I'm going to adopt Next Door Sister #1 myself, and ask someone else to PL it for me when I've uploaded. It's only a few lines.

That means we're full once again!

Cheers,
Winnifred

Well done. Just one note: at 7:14, I hear “…and then we went back to the study, looking very sad, Dora says.” But the text does not contain the word “we,” and that doesn’t make sense, as Oswald is out at the gate. Can you please snip out that word?

Thanks,
Sorry,

Many thanks,
"Revving"? Come on now, Wayne, this is not a sports car we are reading about!! Read the script!!

Two notes for this one:
  • At 12:27, I hear “Noel thought it was very unlikely,” but the text reads “Noel thought it was very likely.” That’ll need fixing.
  • At the end, you read “End of The Treasure Seekers by E. Nesbit,” as the script had it. But I think it should probably be the full title here in the outro: "End of The Story of the Treasure Seekers by E. Nesbit.”
I'll circle back now and do the spot PLs on the corrections you've submitted.

Thanks,
And here are the corrections for 16:
