Hello, folks. It's been 13 years since I was last here and 17 since I was here regularly. Lately, I've been thinking that I might like to get involved in some LibriVox projects again, though. What's new?

Welcome back!

I've only been a Librivoxer for about 3 years, but I can tell you a couple things! Wikipedia said that we hit 10,000 projects on 8/6/16 and 15,000 on 2/14/21. We are set to hit 20,000 in a couple months before the end of the year. So it took us 4.5 years to do the previous 5000, but <4 to do the next 5000!

Monthly statistics just came out. The number of languages represented in the catalog is now 101. I'm pretty sure that's increased in the last 13-17 years as well!! I don't know what the statistics were back then, but as of now, 13,881 readers have completed a project.

And, fun fact just posted by redrun: "Someone could ostensibly listen to our entire catalog, at regular speed and uninterrupted, for 13 years, 259 days, 3 hours, 23 minutes, and 59 seconds."

The forum is still a fun and friendly place. Come back and join us!!
Cheers, VERLA
