Me opening and closing my annoying squeaky door:
http://www.pdsounds.org/audio/play/505

Now the whole world can be annoyed by my stupid door!
I remember how, in college, I got that part-time job as a circus clown, and how the children would laugh and laugh at me. I vowed, then and there, that I would get revenge.

Leon, that is a truly annoying squeak. WD-40?

I saw that there were already some washing machine entries on pdsounds, but I consider Ezwa's polite little washer sound to be just plain wimpy. Here is a REAL washing machine noise:
http://www.pdsounds.org/audio/play/507/washing_machine.mp3
This is in the same room as the computer, behind louvered doors which do pretty much nothing to reduce the noise. But I have resisted my husband's suggestion to move the washer/dryer elsewhere because I do so dang much laundry nowadays, it's convenient to have it smack in the middle of the house.

It's taken me all day to decide what sound I should contribute to Posterity first. But, I have outed myself as a plebian of the lowest order. Teabag time!

http://www.pdsounds.org/sounds/boiling_water_being_poured_into_a_mug_for_tea

(NB. I edited the original URL, which was boiling_water_being_poured_into_a_mug_and_onto_a_teabag and was too "Ode To A Small Lump Of Green Putty"! I shall have to watch those.)

Theme of the week - for anyone who wants one ... FOOD & DRINK!

Corks being popped, cabbages or herbs being chopped, fridge doors (lots of fridge doors, please, I think that one might be geographically interesting!!), all the stages of tea and coffee production ... etc ... etc!

Your tea making sound is absolutly... I LOVE IT. It's so like home, so warm, so AAA-HHHHH!

Leonmire, why can't i hear anything? Is your sound correct. Is the problem at my end?

Leon's file plays for me ... but it does require Quicktime to open up in my browser ...

On the pdsounds page, though, I can't see any clickable heading for it. Leon, I think it's missing its title/artist ID3 tags. If you look on the left-hand side of the main pdsounds.org page at the bottom, there's My latest submissions and you can edit everything you've sent ... mebbe just check it has a good title (in the audio metadata, first thing on the edit page)..?

I live in a campus apartment. I'm wary of trying to "fix" anything. Plus I'm moving in 10 days! :D

I'm not sure.. but it worked fine for me, too. I sent you a message on pdsounds. I've changed the metadata now, so maybe it'll work.

Adding the metadata fixed it for me, Leon!

There's now a URL like this: http://www.pdsounds.org/sounds/squeaky_door which leads to the information page ... there wasn't one of those before, only the direct link to the sound file.

Something to tweak in the page-code, Stephan, so that those are required fields..? Or perhaps there was an unexpected character so the original title was lost..?

Let me see what i can do....
Couln't make the title field be required (in this old version of drupal content managment system) but could make the PREVIEW imperative. They will get to see the title field to fill out now, because they can't cut short by uploading directly without title.

Sounds good to me, Stephan!

I didn't want Jim to have all the fun -- so I've contributed a new toilet flush. http://www.pdsounds.org/sounds/toilet_flush2 -- it's very modern, though ... has anyone got one of those great gurgly over-head cisterns..?

Just about to send some finger clicks, too ...
