Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/844

Instead of claiming chapters as we do with novels, we'll try having a different person read each character and then edit them together into a single file... if this doesn't work as well as we'd like, we'll try getting together online and recording all at once...

I will coordinate (with Paula), and also do narration.

Paula (pberinstein) has offered to edit this project.

Peter Why requested (in the former topic) to be Merriman, the butler.

Oh sure... I'll jump in. Always loved the play.

I'd be interested in either John Worthing or Algernon.

I'd be happy to take whichever of Worthing or Algernon that JohnGon does NOT choose.

:)

(but I'd also take a smaller role, whatever...)

i'll take lane - manservant.

and, just a wee note on librivox "politesse" (!) ... it's much, much easier for a book coordiinator if you say: "I will take X," rather than saying, "I'll take X or Y or Z."

No one will feel badly if you start "hogging" librivox chapters - there are SO many books to do, you don't have to worry about that.

As soon as we have file format information from Paula, let's do a test run with Lane (Hugh), Algernon (Gord), and the Narrator (Betsie) reading the beginning of Act 1 (up to where Jack enters).

This will give Paula a chance to see how editing will go.
