Hi everyone, first time recording and submitting a test link. Would love your feedback!
1. Link is here: https://librivox.org/uploads/tests/test_peppernut.mp3
2. Mic: old Bose headphones, blue tooth, not noise-cancelling
3. System: Windows 10
4. Software: Audacity 3.5.1
(edit: forgot to add that I also used the Checker program to check the tech info, and it passed)
I think the "s" sounds are a little sharp, but I know nothing about fixing that sort of issue with audio files, so any advice would be much appreciated!
Thanks everyone,
Kristin

Welcome Kristin
Your audio meets LibriVox requirements, so you are good to go.
As for the S's, that's known as sibilance. I don't think you are overly sibilant, but if you want to try to reduce it there's a couple things you can do. Sadly one you can't with a headset is to move the mic farther away, but you can try these: Select the track and go to Effect>Graphic EQ. Sibilance usually appears in the 2.5kHz range. Try reducing that slider down by about half. You'll have to play with it.
The other is to install an effect known as a De-Esser in Audacity. Here's a YouTube:

Happy narrating!
